I love this new announcement.

This announcement seems:
1. a little late
2. Useless to most, helpful maybe to those aged 13-18 and those of us who are blessed with much wisdom, but little New Aged magic box wisdom. biggrin
3. It kinda gives the vibe of: "Don't IRL Stalk fellow Gaians. Plox."
4. People give out much worse things than a telephone number and so on. It's kinda dumb. I.E. passwords, so on, bra sizes, male sizes. whatever. heck, if someone wanted to get a Social Security number from these kids, it's quite possible that you could. or a driver's license, or more info needed for identity theft, bank accounts, whatever needed.

I thought it was a bit weak in the "warning" department, as fas as safety goes.
Also, they aren't looking at Profiles hardly ever....obviously. As Koichi said, it's a lot more colorful than a phone number. confused

In addition...
5. You should disclose your personal info, credit card numbers, and anything else that can be exploited/sold only to Gaia's valued affiliates via the cash offers.
That was really the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw that announcement.

yeah it does seem more of, we know that this is an issue and all and it's already caused issues but we're gonna give a half a** attempt at this.
Haha i thought it was more of user to user but yeah razz that's pretty funn that we should disclose that. lol biggrin
