Okay, okay. I'm looking for a costume designer for this show (and for some ideas of people I can look at for future shows).

So you have a chance to apply.

The deadline for submissions is midnight on Thursday. We don't have much time to play around with costumes as the costume crew will need to have mules done by Saturday (24th) afternoon, so if you wish to be chosen, be prepared to be checking your PMs a lot and get on things as soon as we ask for them, since we hope to have our choice of designer made by Saturday at the latest and would like ALL the costume designs (there will be roughly... 14 costumes total, though a few of them will be pretty simplistic and you'll already have the designs you made as part of the application process) done by Tuesday, you'll be sent notes on any adjustments that might need to be made, and we can finalize them on Wednesday and give the crew 2-3 days to get everything done.

Something I want to make clear: GTC generally is not looking for COSTUME REPLICAS. Design for the person who's never seen the show in any form before rather than for the person who will appreciate accuracy. When you look at the reference pictures I've picked out at the end of this post you'll see how different productions can have completely different costumes while still remaining the same feel of those costumes -- you can do the same. Here's some examples of characters from former GTC shows and the costumes we looked at vs what we actually used:





Here are three characters from The Rocky Horror show (and some reference pictures -- just random decent ones I picked off Google Images, feel free to poke around the interwebs for more/better ones). I'd like you to TekTek these three characters, and send those pictures along with a SHORT description of your thoughts on costumes for the show in general, to [O.G.]. If you haven't looked through the script, I'd do so here. Please only submit ONE TekTek per character and ONE PM -- don't keep on redoing it and trying different ideas and PMing your revisions. If we are interested in having you as a designer, you may be asked to do a few other TekTeks and we'll discuss with you -- the TekTeks you submit in this application aren't necessarily the ones you HAVE to end up using for these characters if you become designer.

1) Don't worry too much about the cost -- just... be reasonable? Like, GTC won't shell out gold for obscenely expensive things gratuitously, but if we need something we can usually get it. If I have an objection to a particular item (or items) we can switch it out for something else.

2) You should be choosing the hairstyles for them, but no, you personally don't have to buy them. We'll end up trading the necessary gold to the accounts that need hair and make the costume crew go buy it. Speaking of which, I need to get costume crew start making the accounts soon...

3) It doesn't matter that much, but here are some pictures:

Dr. Scott is supposed to be in a wheelchair, but GTC fails at wheelchair characters... because of lack of wheelchairs. So that part of his character can be disregarded, it's not very plot relevant. Otherwise he's just professor-y.
