In 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document...until now.

Structured unlike any film before it, "The Fourth Kind" is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where—mysteriously since the 1960s—a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered.

Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented.

Using never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film, "The Fourth Kind" exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film.

I was about to log into my Zurg mule the other night, when a commercial came on. I thought it was a trailer for paranormal activity, until I saw alien eyes pop up. I hate it when things like that happen. But anyway, I wanna go see it!

Why wouldn't there be aliens? I can totally see a mass encounter in the future.

I'm glad there's a rise in alien movies. It's been a while since we'd had quality alien movies. I rather liked Knowing for it's strange plot, but I wanted more. I haven't even seen District 9 yet. sad

I've seen it and I really liked it, so I'd recommend seeing it. Although, I don't think it'd really make anyone believe in aliens and I could see how people could think that those people are absolutely insane so just watch it with an open mind...

@D_Marx- love your signature, I'd have to agree with it...

Oooo That does sound good, I'll have to look it up!

@D_Marx: District 9 was pretty good. Very interesting how/where they ended it, but over all pretty well made movie.

While Alien movies aren't always my favorite, I still like to see people's take on what aliens might be like, cause I don't doubt that there is life out there somewhere.

It was interesting to watch, and terrifying until you find out that all of the stuff happening was made up.

I did not like district 9, the way people talked about it, had me pumped for a nice alien flick. Major Disappointment.

I'd watch it just to make sure they had a sound plan for survival.

[[Thanks! I enjoy it regularly, and hate the series often! :3 Still, I've read worse, once I'd figured out it's okay to close the book and throw it across the room.]]
