I absolutely adore the holiday season. Not necessarily because of the gifts and godawful music, but the smells, the food, the lights and decorations, and the food!
Miraculously, between the middle of November to the end of December, every store manages to smell of spicy potpourri.
This year, I think there's going to be about 30 guests at the house, all joining together for "friendly" debates, turkey, beverages, and catching up. Only a few short days away and we're already prepping; I can't wait.
I'm sad that I won't be spending Christmas with my family this year; we have a newcomer and I would love to see what he thinks. Holidays are always big with my family, though we don't partake in any religion. The newcomer, a boy who had been kicked out by his own family, is now with us. They never celebrated any holidays (not even birthdays!) and so this will be his very first. After Thanksgiving, I have a birthday, and then it's off to warmer climates for Christmas! But really, I don't like not having snow for winter...
Do you have any plans for the holidays?

Do you have any plans for the holidays? I'm not really for holiday plans. Maybe just going to the Internet cafe with my cousins on Christmas day, I'm not really sure.

I'm going to enjoy a quiet winter morning sipping tea and gazing out the window as birds flit from one twinkling twig to another and then RUN OUT IN THE STREET SCREAMING "IT'S CHRISTMAS, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!"
That's holiday spontaneity.

I'm going to Vietnam. Wait, that's after Christmas, I think... It'll be summer here. So I'll be at the beach, ogling all the pretty boys. I have Christmas carols stuck in my head! GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIA IN EXCELSIS DEEEEEEEOOO mrgreen Quote: ‘Call it Christmas if you like, but you and I both know that this celebration is far older than that,’ said Aengus moodily, staring into the mists of the twilight deepening over the waters. ‘It’s a time of cold and darkness and death and decay. It’s a time of loss. That’s what this is, isn’t it, this little festival of lights? Decking the halls with evergreen sprigs and covering pines with baubles, gifts and loved ones and bonfires and feasting. It’s a defiance of the dark. In the oubliette heart of winter, in the deepest pit of despair, frightened children light candles to keep the dark at bay and weave crowns of flowers to remind themselves that spring will come again.’ He looked very eerie, dimly illuminated by the bluish evening light and the faint glow of the distant bonfires. A faint trace of cedar and sandalwood smoke was blowing off them on the December wind.

Awesome!! Does enjoying a family reunion on the holidays then me and my cousins going to the internet cafe count?

That certainly does sound like holiday spontaneity. I just love birds.~
I'm spending the holiday in Florida; I'm both ecstatic and distressed about this. I love visiting friends, but I like my Christmas to have snow and evergreen trees.
I never think it's Christmas there.

Think how I feel, trapped on a desert continent in the middle of bushfire season, trying to remember whether my sister wants the bracelet and my mother wants the album or vice versa while I congeal in my own sweat.

Try a vague Christmas card, or smudge the names. It could be for your mother. But it could be for your sister.
They'll have to open it to find out!

Yay~ Christmas~ ^^ This year, we're probably going to my cousin's house. She's expecting a kid, soon! o: How exciting~ I'm currently working on making my Christmas presents for all of the lovely people. :3 I like giving handmade things for Christmas. ^^ It's just so much more personal, y'know? Oh! And the Christmas concert for my school band is in a couple of weeks! o: I'm so excited!

You know what I don't like about Christmas? LOTS AND LOTS OF THINGS. The corny Christmas episodes of my favourite shows, the stupid Christmas movies, explaining to little kids the difference between Santa's elves and Nordic-Celtic elves, arguing theology and religious ceremonial derivation with priests...
Oh, and the religious folks. gonk
Happy Belldandyday, though.
