This Guild is usually very serious, but for those of you who also want some time to just lay back and chat between debates, welcome. This will be the one non-political area of this Guild, so be thankful for it.
While here, all I expect of you is to have a good time and to talk normally amongst one another and get to know each other better. This way, when it comes to debate time, you'll know your enemies weaknesses! ^.-
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy a leisurely chat every once in a while because here's your chance for that to take place!
Truly yours,
[ Butterfly ]

I love living in a State that closes/delays school at any site of ice or snow. We are now going to go into our third straight day of two hour delays for school because the roads MIGHT be a little icy. The high is even going to be 51 tomorrow and we still get our delay.

I hate my city... You can have a blizzard, 3 inches of ice on the road, and mad serial killers on the loose, ALL AT ONCE, and they wouldn't even THINK about closing....

You have got to be kidding me. Our school doesn't close even if there's a snowstorm raging outside. *grumble grumble*.

I've had to WALK to school in -22 degrees fahrenheit. (-30 degrees Celcius) That's cold. And at school we had to stay outside during all the breaks unless the temperature dropped beneath 5 degrees fahrenheit (-15 degrees Celcius). Spoiled americans! Oh well. I survived it, so guess I can't complain.
Yay, first post. But it won't be the last, hopefully. Just have to check a few things on wikipedia so I understand it (Norwegian, you see. And although we have similair things here it probably have different names.) So I'll get my dictionary and get to work.

A_L_R MonkoftheRealm I love living in a State that closes/delays school at any site of ice or snow. We are now going to go into our third straight day of two hour delays for school because the roads MIGHT be a little icy. The high is even going to be 51 tomorrow and we still get our delay. So true. You're an ATLien, right? I loved the "ZOMG WEATHERMAN PREDICTED AN INCH OF SNOW, APOCALYPSE IS HERE!!!111" philosophy back when I was in school. So many snow days we actually used up the allotment most years. xd *snicker* Amateurs. In Chicago, we had so few snow days that, during a particularly harsh winter in '00, a few friends and I seriously contemplated piling all of our collectively-shoveled snow into a pick-up truck and dumping it in front of the superintendent's driveway so he couldn't get out of his garage. The most snow days we ever had in a row was three - during the blizzard of '99. The general consensus for "ZOMGSNOW" is, "Put the ******** chains on the bus tires, and go pick up those kids, and if they catch frostbite on the bus stop, it's their own damn fault. Buy some Gat damn mittens." Heartwarming, really. (Although, we do all get a chuckle at the Southern states who get two inches of fine powder snow, freak out, close down the big cities, and hibernate until it goes away. ^_~) p.s. s**t, son. When it gets higher than 51 degrees here, Chicagoans break out the shorts and t-shirts. gonk

I wish I was in the US right now, but unfortunately I'm not. I'm stuck here in the sandbox (Afghanistan). I'm comming home in two months though 3nodding If I was in the US right now one of the things I'd be doing would be snowboarding (I am from New England and grew up in New England. Heard about the huge storm and would love to be snowboarding down the snow).
