Ok so I downloaded the GIMP program. awesome program, it is! Unforunately, I don't understand it. Of course I'll have to get a tablet first...

You don't need a tablet to work Gimp, or any digital program for that matter. It makes coloring easier and faster, but a mouse will do just fine.

Here's a tutorial on Gimp: Linkie. It's not the greatest tutorial in the world, but you can see how it's really simple to color a piece on that program.
