There are several ways of making gold around gaia's forums and site. In fact these are the easiest ways of getting gold that most members take for granted, or just don't see it as making them gold. I find this a great aspect of gaia because It's something I can do as I talk, or am just looking around.
1. Surf.
Surfing the website can give you a little gold gold. Every page you click on with the exclusion of profiles , has a chance of giving you gold. Usually this number is only between 1-4 gold.
Surfing includes browsing the forums, market place, checking your mail, and looking through NPC stores
2. Daily Chance.
Great for people who are new, the daily chance hands out gold, tokens, trash, flower, bugs, clothing, and promotion items. There's also always a chance to win a new item. Some of the stuff you get may seem useless, but everything you get on Gaia can net you a little gold, and every penny counts.
3. Reply to Topics.
When surfing the forums you may see a topic. Don't be shy about checking it out. If you find it especially interesting you'll want to talk. Do it, it's a great way to get from 1-100gold. If you do it in a nice and polite , most people will be respond accordingly. Make sure that you're post is relevant to the topic though.
**Note: Length of your posts does not effect how much gold you get. single word replies will get the same amount of gold as a really long replies. Keep in mind, and don't spam short responses inappropriately (unless in a thread dedicated to that, or in the chatterbox), but at the same time, don't fill your posts with pointless length. **
Also, it's a well known rumor that if you post over 100 times in one day, the amount of gold you get begins to increase.
4. Post your own Topics.
Posting your own topics gives you gold, and a place to reply to spam or meet new people. Just remember make sure you've read the rules of each sub-forum, and don't post your thread in the wrong place. If you can't figure out where to post something it's safe to go to the chatterbox, home of all things topic related.
**Note: The only gold you get is from making the thread(topic) and your replies to it. Others replies are irrelevant. **
5. Beg in the proper place.
Many people do not like it when you beg, but if you're polite, and do it in the proper place, there should be no problems. Try asking in the
Charity and Quest. Don't ask in other people's threads though (Unless it's a charity thread). Make sure to make your own thread!
Note: Don't pm people to ask for donations. This counts as spam and can get you warned and it's rather rude. In fact, all unsolicited begging is warnable, so make sure you only do it in Charity and Quest.6. Polls.
Polls are yet another way to make you gold. Participating in them by clicking an option then hitting submit. These magical poles can be found at the top of most threads before the first post.
7. Post comments in people's profiles. This is pretty self explanatory . Go to your friends, or even an acquaintance's profile and find that sexy "comment" Button. Click and send a message. Don't spam comments, but rather try to talk. No friends? Poor you
crying Just comment me hello. I love to talk.
8. Participate in the different arenas.
Vote , Comment, and Submit your own entries
There are three
Arenas. The Art, Avatar, and House arenas. You get gold for voting and commenting in all of these. Just try to make sure you're comments are relevant and aren't spam. Spam is bad, it's all salty and gross, and no one likes it. Also, be sure to not just vote for the gold. Look at what you see and vote fairly in your opinion. If you vote fairly it gives the submitter a chance to win a prize at the end of the month.
Submitting an entry yourself gives you a chance to win as well. If your good and have the highest overall rating you get 50k! The competitions tough, but don't get discouraged.
9. Write entries in your Gaian Journal.The cool thing about gaia
Journals is that there is an option to make them public or private. Private Journals give you an opportunity to keep your thoughts to yourself where public journals are more like a blog. Either way the gold you get for sharing your thoughts with the gaiaonline database is decent enough.
