Ladies and gentlemen, a moment of your attention please!
I have just had the very great pleasure to feast my eyes on the very finest horror/steampunk film New Zealand has to offer:
Perfect Creature
A tale of vampires, influenza, hard boiled cops and murder! If anyone is familiar, the setting is very familiar to Unhallowed Metropolis or From Hell. It's set in a slum, so it has a wonderful bleakness, with a steamy edge!
It's not the best film ever, but when it has all the above ingredients, what more do you need? I submit it for your approval.
Also, for those of you with access to it, you can watch it on the iPlayer all week for free! biggrin
And if the above hasn't sold you yet, the final villain is killed by the power of steam!
NB: While I did enjoy it, the film does end on something of a cliffhanger (Underworld syndrome, why must vampires do this?) and some of the wonderful ideas weren't explored perhaps as well as they might have, but there we are. It's a bit o' fun.
