I'm just starting off playing the bass.
I just bought my amp, bass, and everything else and I'm going to start lessons soon.
So I would like some opinions on Picking vs. Plucking.
Obviously I'm not very familiar with either.
I do feel really comfortable holding a pick but I don't mind plucking either and I'm pretty open to anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Learn both .. i feel like both are great .. They just have a different feel and sound .

Both are completely necessary, so learn both. Then pick up slapping, just for fun.

Apparently it's best to master plucking first then try picking.
Doing it the other way is supposedly harder.
