I was just wondering if any of you have played any of the Mechwarrior games because I'm interested to see what they're like playing.

Well, i only played them when I was little but they pretty fun. One of those"everything that would be in a real one is at you disposal here" games. Think of it as Flight Simulator, but for a badass killing machine mrgreen
The only problem though, is that they stopped making them from what I've heard. Hmmmm I think that's all I know about the game, except they might be a little hard to find.

I have MW 1 through 3. Haven't played 3 yet but it's pretty much like 2.
MW 1 is very very old now and pretty crappy but can still be fun. MW 2 is really good, though I never finished it. I'd like to replay it at some point... maybe later this year.
Uhm, what to say. You choose a mech and go on missions. Some have you defend things, sometimes you attack things, it depends. Different mechs have different advantages and each has a bunch of different weapons. You select which weapon to use and just fire stuff. You can overheat, lose your limbs or weapons and so on. You can take out their legs, go for the cockpit and kill the pilot or just take out their weapons etc. Some missions have you with a team. MW1 and I believe 3 have a mercenary element, where you hire new pilots and buy new mechs. In MW2 you're in a clan where you just choose one of several mechs depending on the mission.
I guess you could say it's like a slightly more complicated FPS with a lot less enemies.
MW2 is definitely considered a classic though. Try a demo of one if you're iffy, I'm sure you can find something.

Ok thanks biggrin
Apparently Smith and Tinker and Piranha games are working on a Mechwarrior 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvJyyzJIgXg) and that to promote it they'll eventually release Mechwarrior 4 for free.
