It might have been
Sleep Paralysis. I think Nessy is most likely wrong on the heart attack thing. What sort of tips me off to this is the waking from deep sleep AND the inability to move. If I remember right, it's really not something to worry about too much.
As for my own weird happenings, I have the magical ability to wake up, completely awake, before something happens. Like, I woke up and was wide awake, with light from the kitchen shining in my door. The whole house goes dark and I have to report a power outage. A similar thing to when I woke up before the house got struck by lightning.
I also woke up and (I've posted the story elsewhere and will probably give it its own thread at some point...) I was wide awake. It was like midnight. I look to my left, which is the rest of the room because my bed is in the corner...and I see a lady dressed in black standing rather close to my bed. There's a viscous red-brown liquid dripping from the fingers of her right hand, which is slightly extended towards me. She was lit from below and from the front... Then she disappeared and I was scared shitless. ^^; (I HAD to say it...it's the strongest reaction I can give and it doesn't match how scared I was.)
My lamp light was blown out and the LED lights in a crystal stand were burned too...only leaving red and orange lights left. The bulb in the lamp was new... Also, she wasn't like a shadow of something or anything like that, she was against a solid white door...with a lamp behind HER. My room was empty of shadow producing things. *has everything against the walls*
