First off, I'm not saying you can't do this, but I would prefer you don't, and I may feel inclined to disprove your character.
1. If you are in this guild at all, I'm going to assume you know how to type. Non-visual descriptions suit us just fine here at the UG.
2. As an illustrator doing semi-professional work, I can tell you now, if I saw you people posting my art everywhere for your dumb characters without my permission, I would be pissed, and I would indefinitely ask you to take it down. We work hard on our art, and people like you are what makes us lose money by cropping out all the important bits and allowing hapless dumbasses to see it and take credit for it. You might argue that we signed up for that when we posted it on the internet; but a copyright is STILL a copyright. I don't care if you aren't taking credit for it, I don't care if it's a huge name and it's already all over the net, any use of an artist's work without their consent is stealing.
3. It's ******** dumb and unoriginal. I would rather read two pages of spelling errors than look at some half-assed anime princess or one of Cyrza's portraits.
4. Half decent character art doesn't cost that much these days, unless you're paying me. If you REALLY want a picture, pay an artist to draw for you; or get out your crayons.
If I see work by an artist I know personally, I will ask you to take it down and write a description unless you have convincing permission to use it.
Art is my livelihood and the food on my table, so please show some respect for what we do and ASK.

I just want to add, that those who truly wish to own their own little portrait of their beloved character, yet have no virtual or real life funds for it, nor the skill; there is such a place called as the Art Freebies, where money is but a nice gesture from your side, but not a necessity. Surely it might take a while for you to get that precious picture you so desire, but in the end, it's still free.
And do not say there are no good artists giving out freebies, I have gotten quite a few marvelous pieces myself. And if you spend some time there yourself, and ask nicely, you'll get yours in the end.
