Here is a brief synopsis (one of many) of Bleach as both a manga or anime:

To do this properly, in my mind, I will link to the manga first. I have not read it as yet, which is kind of sad. Anyway, I found one website in a rush to set up this thread but more suggestions are very much welcomed.
