If I posted this in the main fourm I'll probably get accused of flaming.

I'm talking about the unmentionables and similar items. Ovbiously it is unlikely for people to use items in the combinations I have listed but knowing these avatars can be made on gaia it made me think.

I don't know...are sexy undies above 'PG-13 Level' (I think thats the limit)? While gaians' cannot be completely nekkid (to use the term) ovbiously people in underwear (excluding 'noobs' who have no items equipped) could still be seen as nudity (rather semi-nude than nude but you get the idea) and it suggets being ready for sexual activity. Not to mention the new items basically encourage explicit role play. I mean gifts of underwear are something adults give to other adults if they want encourage sex. Normally people (genrally speaking, of the mean age of gaia) would give chocolates or flowers for example.

While I actually like the new items, I can't help but feel gaia is almost contradicting itself and pushing the boundries.

Taken from the Terms of Service:

l. post, request, or link to sexually explicit material or conduct;

AND from the Rules and Guidlines:

8. No Cybering: Soliciting or engaging in cybersex (exchanging descriptions of sexual experiences) or mature content role play is not allowed on Gaia Online. Making sexually suggestive or explicit posts can result in them being removed, and action being taken against your account.

Having quoted that, I think I may have just broken the Rules by posting these avatars. But I trust you won't report me for this.

Amazing isn't? ...How I can create sexualy suggestive avatars using only content provided by gaia. Do you think any of these are higher than PG-13 level?

While these reprisentations might not be as accurate as they could be, you can begin to see the resemblance I'm sure, since these are all based on a fetish (excluding pole dancing which could be excplict anyway).

____Giantess_________Femdom_______Pole Dancing______Bondage____

While I could make more references I think I've got my point across.

These where all made on Tektek so I could not get the right poses unfortunatly.

Of course to make these avatars one would need to be an established player to be able to afford some of the items. So gaia might be biased in that respect, as anyone who could create these would have had to have brought a sizeable amount of gaia cash prior. Therfore, they may not get banned because of it.

Still, I must stress I do like the umentionables items inspite of this, and I am wearing one. (Correct at time of posting)!

I always question the items gaia comes out
with.. well not always but certain items I do.

Cause I feel 13 year olds really don't need
encouragement yet to dress like that.

I know that doesn't mean they will because
of their avi... but again it seems like it
can be encouraging.

The sad thing about gaia is that honestly...
it seemed like a site that was more geared toward
older teens and young adults when it was first
made. And I think they still hold on to that with
the items they come out with. I truly think they
forget how young some users are on here.

I can tell you... at 14, I was thinking about things
of a sexual nature and what I do is no one elses business
but that doesn't mean I think kids should be now.

My sister for instance is going to be 13 in October,
and quite honestly, i still don't know how I feel about
her coming on here. I rather her be a bit older before
coming on here regardless of it's PG-13 warning.

*sigh* with that said, I like the items personally,
but that doesn't mean I think they're appropriate
for younger teens. Like you stated, underwear and such
are usually what adults give other adults.
It's something I would do now.

But when I was younger I gave my gf chocolates,
a little teddy bear, and a rose. I still would like to
if I possessed the money to do so right now.

Femdom? I think you mean domination/submissive. Not femdom. Unless you're insinuating that Gaia supports feminism and to you that's not ok. stare

(I've seen an avie similar to this)

This has already been brought up before during the cig ban. I think Gaia makes these items because in all honesty, if they didn't, then they'd probably lose their older audience. And by older I mean in age.

Right, and right again. IIRC, this was somewhere on the MAIN forums, and the OP didn't get flamed. This is an existing issue, but considering how much pseudo-cybering there is going on in towns, clothing is the least of the problems anyone will be worrying about.
Besides, some of the criteria you're using are kind of strict. Giantess could as well be someone trying innocently to be King Kong (there WAS this really cute arcade game 10+ years ago, but that's another story), and we've had straitjackets (and in fact, a whole bleeding Str8 set of clothes) since before I even joined up. In fact, the avi Scarlet brought up has already been worn so thin its now jsut lame to use it.
Fujin has a point - we shouldn't encourage 13 y/o's to dress like that, and many of Gaia's recent items have made us rolleyes for various reasons, but its a necessary evil to keep the old-but-not-necessarily-mature users interested. Gaia only pretends to be 13-SAFE, not 13-FRIENDLY.

It's true.

I know we can't really do much about it
and honestly.. the items aren't what keeps
me here, but I do like them. rolleyes

And the whole cybering thing in towns and every
where else that's public chat is a much bigger
issue.

Honestly speaking.. I never really understood
the whole rage of cybering to begin with.
I tried it when I was younger, I'll admit it,
but it was for laughs cause the guys
on the other end were so ridiculous.
But then again, half of gaia's population
is hormonal little teens... so that would explain
a lot. gonk

Still the trouble is having these items in the first place encourages their misuse. It puts ideas into the minds of younger gaians. But also the NPCs they've changed a lot too. Perhaps they should raise the age limit of joining gaia slightly say a year or 2 because after all, it is amied at older teens. 13 is too young and people are growing up too fast these days and with all the sexualy transmitted stuff gaia probably shouldn't be making these items knowing people as young as 13 can access them.

It would be nice, but people can lie about their age. It's not that hard, Gaia doesn't check. Plus, if we are going to focus on being concerned with warping young childs minds, it would be kids under the age of 13. You know how young the youngest Gaian I ran into was? 9! She was 9 and bragging about being on Gaia, plus she was partaking in cybering with some 13-year-old boys.

Unless you start asking for credit car numbers, anyone with half a brain and little conscience can get into Gaia. Besides, I won't give Gaia my credit card number anyway. As pointed out, some kids WILL lie their way in just to show off about it. Practically nothing that can be done about it.
Of course, you COULD blame parents for failing to supervise internet usage, but that's not the question here.

One of my gaia friends have found an item glitch in these black boots, that makes the male completely naked.

It's not the cat skin item, oh no. He's completely naked with lusty. It's an interesting glitch.

Someone once told me pixels won't influence a person. But think of the pixel sex and Hentai. And apprently the cupid smoking for valentines day was ok. You'd think gaia would be setting an example. But the insisted this was all ok. Apprently pixels will never influence a person.

If we all worked on that notion then something is pixel then it would be immedialy assumed it is not harmful not matter how harmful it's real life counterpart is. So, with that in mind, if I have a son I could allow him to watch Hentai (and the likes such as this Tentacle erotica I have come across) all day long just because it is made of pixels and so is assumed not harmful. That seems illogical to me.

Pixels could the starting point of real things. A person might see something they like online and take it that one step further.

The stuff people come up with. That guy was a complete idiot.

This is a controversy amongst alot of gaians as you could have seen in the cig ban option that was brought up before.

However, Gaia since... I'd say about 05 has started pushing the limits of pixels and pg-13 content with the start of it being the dancer bottoms, a formerly male only item found in Edmund's shop.

While some of this could be taken the wrong way with a less mature audience, I think for the older ones, such as myself and alot of other's I know on here, we find it rather amusing. Alright, so it may encourage some little kid to do something stupid. But you know what? I'd blame the parents. It is their job to watch them and know what they do, and to determine if they're mature enough to even handle a PC. Yet alot of people use it as a baby sitting tool for their kids. Fine and well, if you want/don't care about what is exposed to them.

As for the cyber topic and having that farther encouraged, them adding such items to the pot won't hurt any more than say adding the fallen wish, lusty scoundrel and other such things before it with suggestive and skimpy items. Hell, even fully dressed noobs in noob clothes will still do it, skimpy items or not. Thus why there is there is two very handy magic buttons on gaia that I love using and abusing. Ignore and report. They're by far my favorites. Especially in towns.

Fact of the matter is, there is and always has been even in the real word a fine line between PG-13 and the step above it. For instance, take a look in the chatter box, there is a thread in there that has been running a loooooong time, with 4567890544565764634 posts or so. A huge, ridiculous amount. The thread title is something about mammary. Yes, implication of boobs. The thread is nothing but boobs, boobs and...more boobs, asking for pictures of boobs and other such things that pertain to that. But it is apparently with in the acceptable bounds of gaia, even if they have NOTHING covering them cloth wise. As long as something, anything is covering the n****e part. So some chick could wander in there with triple z's, have nothing but two fingers covering herself in the specified spot (assuming that that she could lift her arms around something that huge and her fingers could cover a large area) and it would be perfectly fine by gaia standards as it falls with in PG-13.

So as for Quzo's topic about letting some 13 year old watch 'pixel porn', well, that would fall under parenting discretion topic, and I would have to question any parent that let their child watch such things and wouldn't be surprised if someone caught on and reported them. But in this day in age... -shakes head.-

Hellz yes! I was going to say this too. If parents are too lazy to monitor what their kids are doing online, too bad. Don't expect the ISPs or websites to babysit for you. You don't pay them nearly half enough to do that (no, not even Gaia).

I agree. And for those sorts of people, it should be mandatory that they have to use an old 888 PC from the early 90s, running windows 3.1 with out a mouse option on it. >D Would cut down on noobs/ morons on the net, and maybe they'd mature a bit if/when they ever get the hang of it.

Using a computer has gotten too easy and convenient allowing all sorts onto the net. Making it the perfect babysitting tool (to those idiots that don't care if the PC is cluttered with porn, spam/spyware and viruses. )
