...Wouldn't most of that fall under the entertainment area?

I don't want to see a forum area dedicated to s**t I get tired of hearing about, don't know of, or don't watch screaming in my face.

Sick of: All the twilight fandom and fans and hearing about things that think they're vampires. Could find better fanfiction riddled with marysues on the net for free to read. o.O

Don't know: Justin Bieber. But who ever the hell he is, judging by the description of the forum, he sounds just like some fan girl's wet dream and someone to avoid the fans of.

Don't watch: Lost, American Idol. Granted, I don't do much TV watching if at all, but isn't there better shows out there to highlight?

Not seen: Alice in wonderland.

All in all, I think those would have been better shoved under entertainment some where.

But I guarantee, now that some of that s**t has been highlighted, the ones that want something else stuck up there because that show, that book or that person got up there will be flooding site feed back or any other place.

Its more of a cause for upset and butt hurt of users than it is anything useful.

It's ok if they are gonna rotate the topics. I mean, if there's a new hot topic, and one of the old ones is rather out, then switch them. I guess they did this to make it easier for the ones wanting to discuss these topics, since I bet they've been posted all over, for mods to clean up afterwards, which can be pretty sickening after a while.

As for the topics... I don't understand them either XD
I do see why they made a Twilight forum; it's better to have people puke in 1 place, instead of 100.
I don't know who Justin Bieber is either, and don't watch Lost and American Idol.
Yet, I DID watch Alice in Wonderland, and it was a wonderful movie. I just don't see why we need a forum for it, just because it's a sponsor confused

As most of the people in the SF are too busy blindly defending Gaia to realize, it's simply a way for them to get more sponsor deals while doing less work. Think about it: the sponsors get publicity we can't adblock or ignore by getting their names at the top of one of Gaia's most accessed pages, and Gaia doesn't ever have to design a sponsor item/profile or code a sponsor world again.

Exploit users, receive money. I'm getting sick of that mentality.

And everyone knows as well as I do how gaia keeps up with s**t like that. Look at the gaia insider, or whatever that magazine is where they give MC hints and things. I think its 3 months behind now? Either that or they can't make up their mind where the hell they want to stick it in the forums. >/

And Twatlight is going to be around far too long to be moved out any time soon. So I don't see why they couldn't make subforums under entertainment for these people and not have them in my damn face cluttering my page all to hell. >.< And reading the discussion rules in those topics, they still won't allow some topics in there, thus directing them to the chatterbox, so we'll still have crap topics all over the place.

Just now we'll have people in the SF as I said whining about MORE crap topics to be added. (Noted while I was in there people whining for Naruto, Lady Gaga x 3 (another lamer that looks like a badly dressed hooker who I atleast know is a singer but never heard her.) Pokemon, anime in general...etc.)
--Maybe I'm just too damn old for this new "in" crowd s**t? >/

But what I don't get, is why not make better use of that thing they used to have...A forum pulse? That handy thing we could kill off? If its still around even. Why couldn't they highlight the new SUB FORUMS made under ENTERTAINMENT where they belong there instead? =D

You have a point though, one place instead of 100, I'd just wish it wasn't infront of my face practically on my shoes every time I step into forums.

Oh hell, you mean they're going to have sponsored movies and other s**t up there? Great. Bad sponsor 9011dy-billion a** flavored, cotton candy crunch with a hint of lime skittles. And it gets its own ******** hot topic! =DDD! I can't wait! [/sarcasm]

But seriously, why not highlight something a little more gaia related? Gambino's death. Yes, drama, and all that, but it is atleast a neutral-ish topic. X.x;

Hm. Good logic is good on your part. Flawed on Gaia's end.

Though not tried it yet, wouldn't be too sure about the non-adblocking thing. >D If I get sick of seeing them there, I will attempt massive amounts of adblocking, going so far as blocking the text and links if I must.

I don't like it much either...as soon as I saw Twilight and Lost mentioned in the same sentence, I mentally adblocked the entire thread. Unless Gaia starts foisting the new forum on us (not saying they wouldn't), I can effectively ignore it.
Ranchi has a point though. No rule that people can't puke elsewhere, but having this new thing sort of makes it a foci (or maybe a black hole), our fanboys/girls are more likely to gravitate towards that one place.
As ancient art of war says: if you can't beat them, run away. Fast. mrgreen

What gets me is...and no offense to anyone, but the topics alright. American idol, Lost, and Wonderland. They're more general audience. But Twilight and Justin Bieber seem to target females more than the males. WHY? D< Does Gaia think it only has a female population? Why couldn't they have something up there for guys only? I mean we get the short end of the stick on Gaia.

Secret, Venus, Tampax, and think there was one other. All geared towards females. Venus even had a women only area with half naked fish dudes in it and cabana boys.

And the women have some more elaborate clothing items and have a better selection of shoes than the guys do.

We get no damn love I tell you. D<

MAYBE WE WANT HALF NAKED FISH MEN AND CABANA BOYS TOO! ...Maybe... then again...maybe not. >>

As for fan girls and boys in that one place, maybe, but all I've seen is Gaia stirring up s**t again. The twatlight topics have died down, there wasn't many of those religious "vampire" cultist followings to bash. It was nice, it was peaceful. Then Gaia opens this whole ******** can of worms up, starts it all up again, and once again brings out the twatlight topic, where those people just begged to be bashed.

Yes... I'm an avid hater of those books and that a** retarded woman that writes them and can't possibly see any literary value in those books; that are full- from what I hear-of bestiality, marysues and smut. (S'no wonder IQs are dropping around the world. >/) Though mean no offense to anyone here, just my opinion on it.

Could run away fast, but got no place to run with that crap on the home page!

I say we raid Gambino's labs and turn them all into mindless vegetables with some disease bomb. =D

I heard someone say this was a way to get the kiddies more interested in the site. :/
Makes sense, though, you know? Twilight, Justin Bieber... Nothing I'd touch with a ten foot pole. But the little ones... They don't yet know of the stupidity of it all.
And I dunno if it was there before, but now there's a Final Fantasy forum? Did I miss something, or has it just suddenly appeared?

It was originally a subforum of Gaming Discussion but apparently they moved it to Hot Topics by popular demand.

And trying to get in touch with the kiddies is a dangerous game. The majority of the people who will frequent the Justin Bieber forum, for example, are likely 10-15 year old girls. They've effectively cut out the legwork for sex offenders that use Gaia as a meeting ground.

Screw the "kiddies" in the ear, damnit. We got enough of those little a** mongers running around this site trying to cyber all over the damn place. D< Or bringing the overall IQ of the user base down.

Nope, wasn't there before on the hot topics, was just added. Though that is one I can agree with. But it did have a subforum, so why move it? -head shake-

As mentioned already, its a cheap way to attract attention and "bond" with the whole new PG-13 crowd.
Goodness, doesn't ANYONE in Gaia management have the brains to see how bad an idea this is? stressed Or do we really need something like what happened to Craigslist last year-end before they wake up and smell the cesspool?
Real sad about the FF subforum though. Now its (probably) gone from not good to SPARTA!

I think the user base needs to rise up and say something about this. And a few other things.

Maybe if we're feeling ballsy we can close automatic invites to the guild for awhile, make it open to read only and have this guild highlighted some how. Let Gaia see we're not a happy bunch of campers, damnit. D<

It is sad about the FF subforum. But hell, its not even there any more. And now all the little idiots that didn't know it was there probably found it and have cluttered it up. Wasn't a half bad place to poke around from time to time.
