Hello, thought i would try and get some convos moving around here lol. Ive played my share of MMOs, some good some bad. the Free to play to the monthly fee.
But im always interested in seeing what others are playing or have played and their views on those games, mostly from a game design standpoint.
This is not a thread for fighting over what game is the best of the best, personally i dont like wow (was in beta) But i plan on giving it another shot down the road. I however do like UO, is UO the better game? No not by a long shot just had some more elements i found interesting.

Innocentia Nihil Probat.  Ok Im currently playing Allods (FTP) and have to say its one of the better free MMOs ive played in a while. Graphics arnt bad, story is pretty run of the mill, but its the class ability stuff i find most interesting. The game is built to be group heavy, a solo player wont be able to kill some things till they have a massive lvl advantage, but i have a group i tend to play with across most games i play so its fine for me. Havent had a chance to poke at the PVP
I have guild wars installed but havent logged in in a few months. i enjoyed the ability to change your secondary class at anytime by hitting town. The PvP isnt bad There are some muppets and some elitist running around.
EQ1 (before WoWification) As in before they toned it down.... it was a nice challenge, i enjoyed playing with friends and the char i used to run is still talked about. i havent played in maybe 4yr, ive seen other people play with the new stuff and im just not interested in how it was changed. But its all good means start up takes less player investment lol i remember the 1 to 15grind in old world...
WoW (beta) Ill start by saying I love warcraft, And i had high hopes for this game, but it just didnt feel as fun as i had hoped. However the only thing i can really say about it is that the PvP system sucks (as ive been informed) Ive told some friends ill give it another shot, ill update this when i do so.
UO... with no expansions, i liked it. i nice open world with a mostly player controlled and run world. i remember the world split so that all the anti pvp kiddies had a safe place to sit and feel superior. It had its failings, but mostly things the old game wouldnt of been able to handle. A game I loved but wouldnt tell people to buy lol.
and the list goes on and on....
so i think thats more then enough for today lol
(yes im well aware my grammar and spelling sucks, i speak better then i type razz )

Anon i liked wow kind of alot when i first started playing it <.<; cant really say i like it that much now but its been quite a while sence ive played it, no intention of really picking it up again unless i get really bored though. Shaiya is pretty fun(IMO anyways), its the one that im currently playing and i like the pvp on it. Plus i like the graphics on it<.< its just pretty <3 uh lol flyff? i dont really know much about it though, theres just a lot of people that tell me to play it and ive made an acc with my bf but havent played much of it but what ive seen all i can say is that it seems cute. not that games are based off of there cuteness or prettyness but it draws me in, im not much of a mmo player but more of a sony fan girl lol ;>.>. lol i was supposed to play some flyff but got busy with other games.... as far as i know the MMO review blog thing i was supposed to help with never covered it. Havent heard of Shaiya... EDIT: just hit me my new lap top might run Requiem lol ( The games site)

Guild Wars seems like a duller vers of WOW, speaking of WOW wasnt there some game that they were saying was going to be the new WOW it was supposed to be oh so awesome and alot of people would be leaving WOW for it? Or so i heard, I think the game started with an A but i dont remember the name of it.EDITI think it was Aion: The Tower of Eternity (its pay-to-play for those wonderinggggg). But i havent really heard anything else on it so im guessing it didnt really take over like someone thought it would.
I play shiaya, i dont really like how you have to request to fight another player and they have the choice to say no though. Imo it'd be alot more fun if you could just run up to any ol' player and just pk any time you want. Givin its annoying if you keep getting pk'ed but all in all itd still be better. I think its cool that after you hit a certain lvl that you can play on UM (ultimate for those who dont know) and that if you die and dont reserect soon or however it was, that you loose your chara or something lol yeah im never playing on UM; with my luck id loose my chara's and i probably would cry.
Anon are you on the light or dark side? I think the light is pretty lame sence its just humans and elves they arent really all that entertaining to me anymore lol. (I'm with the dark obviously lol, so if you are to then we should play together sometime. Or find each other and PvP <3)
Flyff, well i found it really lame and kind of boring lol thats all i got to say no offence to the people who love it or what have you, im not argueing just stating an opinion lol.
lol @ Anon im a fangirl to, so as for games that arent MMO's have you guys ever played Infamous? Its AMAZING.
Dude oh my god lol i just checked out that Requiem site and i think its going to be my new favorite thing haha; im going to download it in a bit.

Lol well WoW has its pros and cons, but Guildwars is deff built more for the PvP crowd and has alot of interesting stuff going for it. I love being able to change my chars secondary class when ever i get an urge, and the henchmen were a nice touch since i tend to do alot of solo play if i dont have my regular gaming group. But its a game thats best watched or played to really feel what it has going on, I lucked out and have friends that have been playing since launch that were willing to just sit down and talk about alot of the stuff that goes into the game. I have heard of Aion but never really checked it out, personally i feel that Warhammer online is better then WoW. But WoW has staying power had a nice launch and keeps moving im sure it will stick around. I've Been playing games most my life MMOs arnt even my main thing, but i havent played Infamous. Recently found out my laptop wont run Heavy Gear 2. (game came out in 1999)

I really honestly have no right to say that sence I've only seen a friend play it, things tend to be dull for me unless I play them myself and I haven't play that.

Lol Infamous is AMAZINGGGGGGGGG I love it. They are coming out with a second one but, they changed it alot from what I can see, because he can control electricity and stuff and on the previews it shows him using ice? Like wtf, I could understand if it was fire or something because don't fire roll around somewhat with electricity? But not ice..

you should check out the banned version for it on youtube. It's pretty funny.
Hey Manipulator, how old are you exactly? You seem pretty smart or whatever so I'm guessing your not some little gamer kid, but who knows, I could be wrong. (Not that I'm calling little gamer kids stupid cause I'm not, lol I should really learn to word things better.)

Warhammer and Warhammer 40k are table top war games they are owned by Games workshop (GW also does the LOTR table top game) Warhammer has an mmo out now, 40k has one on the way. Most games in the Warhammer fantasy line have been rts based, 40k was mostly Tbs games and a hand full of fps games till thq released the dawn of war line. Cooly I dont have tomuch interest in modern warfare, I was a huge fan of the CoD games when the first one came out because at the time it had alot of interesting stuff going for it that i thought made it a better WW2 based fps then medal of honor at the time. Im 21, been gaming most my life mostly a PC gamer didnt really have an interest in consoles till i had an xbox (tho i did have a ps2 i mostly used it for tekken). I also love Table top gaming things like D&D and Warhammer. EDIT: growing up when most my friends were getting PlayStation or other systems i was still gaming on an Atari 2600 and a Nes
