The options for this poll were taken from the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition. As a result, some disorders that are not currently recognized in the US may not be listed. Also, the new "TR" revision of the DSM greater stratifies the categories of disorders, which makes too many options for the poll, so if you have been diagnosed after the year 2000, you may find your disorder stuffed under a different broad category. At any rate, if your diagnosis is not included here, or you hesitated before answering for any reason, reply and tell us about it!

I was diagnosed as having bipolar II disorder and I have major anxiety. I don't know if that diagnosis will need to be revised since I'm just in the beginning stages of my treatment. It's been about a month and a half to two months.
I'm still confused about how all this works.

I'm schizoaffective, so that's both a mood and a psychotic disorder, I believe?

She-Lich I'm schizoaffective, so that's both a mood and a psychotic disorder, I believe? I thought there were similar names for different things, though you can have both? I dunno.

There's a time to discriminate Hate every ******** that's in your way The only thing that I've been formally diagnosed with is Gender Identity Disorder. However, I feel that I may possibly have Dissociative Identity Disorder, or something similar to it. Others have said based on observation that they feel I may be bipolar and/or have some sort of anxiety disorder. I hesitate to claim any of this, though, because the last thing I would want to do is sound like a hypochondriac or just claim to have something I don't. That's the last thing I'd ever want to do. I came here to learn, discuss, etc. Not to offend or hurt.
I guess I'll get more into things in a journaling thread and whatnot. Or any other threads that fit. Anyway. Done rambling now. Sorry. sweatdrop

I have, at one point or another, been diagnosed with OCD, DID, ED-NOS, borderline personality disorder, schizoaffective disorder bipolar subtype, and SAD.
After almost a year of DBT, I'm not borderline anymore though. blaugh

back in high-school, i ended up passing out once from malnutrition, because i hadn't eaten in 10 days. it was arranged that i would meet with a Psychologist, for fear that i may have been anorexic.
well, the Psychologist found evidence that went beyond my obvious anorexia (and my anorexia as far as i know wasn't officially written down), and that he suspected i had Bipolar Disorder. so, it was arranged that i would meet with someone else for a written test and diagnosis.
before that happened, i ended up having a hysteric episode wherein i had woken up at exactly 2:10 am every night for 3 nights in a row and carved negative words into my own arm compulsively. i was very scared that i couldn't control it, and wore a hoodie to school, asking to use my any-time nurse pass (which i got because of the not-eating incident) at the first oppurtunity.
so i want to the councilor and told them about my fear, and ended up going to a mental health institution's Crisis Stabilization Unit. when i get out about a week later, i met with the person who was gonna diagnose me, and i ended up diagnosed as Paranoid Schitzophrenic. i havn't questioned it for years, but recently i have been hearing alot of theories around from many of my friends (alot of whom are academically experienced in fiels like this) that i am not diagnosed correctly. so i want to get a more in-depth diagnostic test.
anywho, schitzophrenia, i believe is both an Anxiety and Psychotic disorder.

The only thing I've been formally diagnosed with is anxiety. Although family and friends of mine have told me that I also have paranoia and a little bit of ocd and I know there's some other things but I just don't know the name(s) although I am able to describe it pretty well
