Gaia has more than 27 thousand people on at any given time with more than 200 thousand accounts all together. With so many people is amazing that Gaia has made it so easy to find other people with the same interests as you. Gaia also has tons of cool stuff like games comics and it's own online economy. You can build cars and even buy your own house. Gaia is working on a series of online pets, currently relished is the "aquarium" feature where you can raise your own fish. The forums of the site itself may be tricky at times but many people who can't figure it out just make chatterbox their homes here on Gaia (it's nothing to be ashamed of). also Gaia now has a interactive game where you can fight monsters, lvl up and hang out with friends, all without having to sign up for anything (as lounge as you have a Gaia account already ^_^ )
