When a movie says its "Based on a true story" But when you try to look it up there's nothing true about it besides the random happening here and there?? Specially with haunting movies. Some are just way obviously fake, but others not so much.
I just watched 'Death of a Ghost Hunter' the other day and I loved the movie, how it was made and everything. But come to find out the next day, that none of it was really true. There is nothing that says any of the murders really happened, or that the main character even existed.
When that happens, it kinda just ruins those movies for me...
Anyone else feel this way?

Yes, that's what happened with the fourth kind and another alien movie that I'm not going to name in case anyone decides to watch it. Come on peoples! I will watch your horror movies whether you pretend they're real or not, just don't mess with me and lie! that's all I ask!

Lying is a fast way to keep $18 bucks instead of going to the theatre!
I'll see your movie, laugh at the wrong parts, and enjoy the music, but tell me it's based and then have it be false. . . I carry a crowbar in my trunk for various reasons for which even I may be unaware.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose, though. Can't remember the full details.

Yeah, I know what you mean.
Haunting of Connecticut is still a good movie, of course, I first saw the story on Haunting, on the discovery channel. I mean, of course they had to change some things, and give it an ending and some back story, but I still enjoyed it.

Kind of like "Paranormal Activity". That movie had no truth to it, however, something like that did happen to me. Not exactly over time or anything, only for about ten seconds.

The descent of madness...... Maka! It's so annoying! This is one of the many reasons why I don't watch those movies. False advertisement to draw you in. >:[Doesn't have to be painful......

I think it's to scare the "ahh, I'm not going to research it and it's all bullshit anyways" kids/adults. No one wants to believe the horror/psychic crowds.

It is incredibly annoying and I normally avoid movies that were "based on a true story" because of this exact reason.

Even the supposed "real clips" are fake? How lame.

Legendary Deadwolf Kind of like "Paranormal Activity". That movie had no truth to it, however, something like that did happen to me. Not exactly over time or anything, only for about ten seconds. I'm not surprised that movie had no truth to it..it sucked anyway. Waste of money even to rent.

Of course I started looking into "The Fourth Kind"...low and behold even the "real footage" is 100% fake.
Sad.
The saddest part? People were posting comments on the articles to the affect of:
"This movie is REAAAAAAAAALLLLLL I believe!!1!!!!!" (added the 1 for emphases "The government is covering it all up, of course it's all real, but they don't want you to think that." "The footage in this film is REAL! They even said it's real! Open your eyes you blind cunts!"
Yeah....so....despite everything, I can't understand how these brain-dead people are still alive. I figure with their level of stupidity, they'd of earned a Darwin award by now..

Ugh, I hated that Human Centipede claimed it was 100% medically accurate, when no one can survive on waste alone. Meh, the "creature" didn't last long, anyway.

I am kind of late but thats the same thing the director did with "The Blair Witch Project". Nothing was true at all.

I think they change the names for legal stuff so people don't stalk them because alot of people will see the movie. And I hate it that they change it alot for the movie to make it all 'exiting' but it just gets stretched too much and it's nothing like how it actualy happened at all. Movies alwase do that, they mess it up, with books and true stories they just haft to change it a little. scream
