I've been on a hunt to find really good zombie movies lately but I've also felt like watching the end of the world/post-apocalyptic movies as well. Anybody have recommendations? If you know of any good books that fit under those categories, please speak up. Thanks to all!

I recommend Children of Men, Pitch Black, Soylent Green, The Terminator [1 & 2], 12 Monkeys, the Snake Pliskin series, and The Island, personally. List of Dystopian Films

Wow, thanks. The only one I know I've seen was The Island and really liked it. I'll check the others out.

Try Survival of the Dead, George Romero's newest flick. And if you haven't seen his other movies, put those on your list.

*shudders* zombies. . . I only watched two of his movies: Night of the Living Dead and the original Dawn of the Dead.
I want to see his '70s movie The Crazies. His vision is astounding despite his desire to see the dead walk the earth.

I admit I watched the newer Dawn of the Dead, and the newer The Crazies.
I also admit I didn't sleep for two days after the former.
