About the World
zOMG! is widely varied with lots of local flavor differentiating one area from another. There are many areas to experience, whether open grass fields, dense jungles, sandy beaches, ancient ruins, public towns or zen gardens to journey through.
When you start playing, you'll start with a training mission that teaches you the basics of the game, but when you're done with that training mission, you'll enter into... Barton Town!
We don't want to reveal the whole thing quite yet (because surprises are fun), but here is a section of that town brought to life within zOMG!.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXBarton Town

The Town is thriving with not just the various shopkeepers and personalities you already know, but many more characters are being added to make it feel like a thriving village. You'll be able to spend a lot of time here, in Gaia's original town.
zOMG! Wiki
Gaia's main population center is known for its friendly people, quaint shops and the dedicated town guards who keep it clean and orderly. Unfortunately, this quiet community has been rattled by the arrival of the Animated. Though the vigilant guards and high walls surrounding the town have kept it safe, the surrounding areas are becoming increasingly dangerous.
The NPCs: here.
Recommended CL Level: 1.0 -- 10.0 (anyone can come back to talk to others or get their G'hi energy back up to 100.)
Comments: [[all 'comments' taken from Bria`s Guide]] Please note that from here on out, you don't have to do anything in a particular order, unless you are working on a quest chain.
If you don't think you are quite ready to face the animated, you can stick around Barton. A number of the NPC's here have quests for you that require no killing at all. This is also a good way to get a decent pack of charge orbs to use on your rings later.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXVilliage Greens
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxclick here for full map.
The Village Greens South of Barton Town lie the sprawling suburbs known as the "Village Greens". A walled enclave of private housing (known simply as "Towns") exists here, kept separate from the rolling hills, flower gardens, and the golf course greens after which this area is named.
The NPCs: Commander Leon, Remo, MacTaggert, Kerley, Elizabeth, and Dina.
Recommended CL Level: 1.0 -- 1.9
Comments: If you feel you are ready for the animated, head here. This is the starter area after the training session you had on the train and in the sewers. There are a number of areas here where you can fight without even charging your rings, though its highly recommend you hightail your behind directly to the Null Chamber marked on the map (Till the map is linked, don't worry, just head two boxes south. You shouldn't encounter any animated on your way to the Null Chamber.). If you also talked to Elizabeth before leaving Barton she will have given you a quest to charge one of your rings, so if you plan on charging your rings before you get busy in the greens make sure you've talked to Elizabeth.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXBill's Ranch
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxclick here for full map.
To the west of the Village Greens are the pastures and farmlands of Bill's Ranch. Bill raises cows, chickens and is a famous farmer of garlic. He and his son, Purvis, run the ranch, selling their wares in nearby Barton Town.
The NPCs: Larry, Klaus Klokenmeyer, Rancher Bill, Purvis, Rubella, and Albert.
Recommended CL Level: 1.8 -- 2.6
Comments: Ever gone cow tipping in real life? Several of the cows on Bill's Ranch can be tipped over. Sometimes you may need to click twice to knock the cow over. You won't get anything special for doing this, but it's something you can do if you don't feel like destroying the animated.

Dead Man's Pass
It's dark. It's gloomy. It's a twisted, creepy mountain above Bill's Ranch with a house at the top owned by an ancient family that no one sees in the daytime. It's not a popular tourist destination.
The NPCs: None.
Recommended CL Level: 2.2 -- 2.9 (Note: The rare spawns in this area are above the CL listed)
Comments: It's best to go into Dead Man's Pass with a good crew, especially if you're trying to take down the OMGWTF or even the OMFG. Because of the level caps given to instant bosses, going in alone and surviving is very, very hard.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXZen Gardens
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXclick here for full map.
To the west of Barton Town lie the sculpted and manicured Zen Gardens, tended by a family of resident botanists and horticulturists. Koi ponds, bamboo trees and groves of lanterns surround a central contemplation shrine. Famed throughout Gaia, these Gardens are a well-loved tourist destination. The woods they border to the west are dense thickets that few people have a reason to brave. The road leading west is the way to Durem.
The NPCs: Katsumi, Wish Tree, Arnold, Paula, Trip, and Burton.
Recommended CL Level: 2.8 -- 4.0 (crew recommended due to creature mobbing)
Comments: Drums beat all over the Northern area. Kokeshi Dolls roam around the paths and their collectible counter parts hang out in the Southeastern corner. Anywhere you see a Sakura tree you can guarantee to find the Cherry Fluffs. And at night Ghost Lanterns come out to light up the air and lick you to death.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXBass'ken Lake
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXclick here for full map.
The home of some mighty fine fishin', Bass'ken Lake was once a thriving lumber camp. The old lumber mill there has been closed for some time, but "The Old Fishing Hole" general store is still open, mostly due to the efforts of its tough and crusty proprietor.
The NPCs: here.
Recommended CL Level: 4.2 -- 5.0
Comments: If you run around Bass'ken Lake, you may notice you'll occasionally get a Ring Box flying around the screen. If you chase after it and it alludes you, just head back to where you first saw it. It'll eventually pass you again. If you hang around the two docks on the northern part of the map you might see the Bass'ken Lake Monster, typically referred to as Bassie by Gaians.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOld Aqueduct
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXclick here for full map.
The remains of the old aqueduct that was used before the Durem Reclamation Facility was created are still present here, although dilapidated and fallen now into beautiful ruin. The jungles to the northwest stretch down this far, but have not yet fully consumed the old stones. The Zurg artifact called the Star Portal lies dormant here still, guarded by a handful of ever-present GIB agents.
The NPCs: here.
Recommended CL Level: 5.0 -- 6.0
Comments: Please note that the Tiny Terrors here don't drop anything and that they and the Predator Pups in the NW corner do not count towards kills for those mobs.
Hive World
When you enter the Star Portal you'll find yourself in this strange place. You can see many passageways, but you can hear creatures scuttling down them towards you. Try and survive as long as you can.
The NPCs: None.
Recommended CL Level: 8.0+ (This is area is now scaled to the highest level CL in your crew, keep crew members green to you.)
Comments: Don't get too close to the walls. Even the walls of the Hive are alive and will come out and hit you. Those tentacles will reach out and hurt you. Remember to wait till all your crew members have died and the Game Over message has popped up so that you can receive any badge you may have won.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXGold Beach
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXclick here for full map.
This popular tourist beach is golden sand next to gentle lagoon-like waves. Surfers paddle far out past the barrier reef to catch the bigger waves there, and they swear that the rides are worth the effort. A lighthouse stands high over the beach, warning ships about the reef so they don't add to the countless shipwrecks found throughout the Shallow Sea.
The NPCs: here.
Recommended CL Level: 6.0 -- 7.0 (crew recommended for Anchor Bug mobs and Sand Fluffs)
Comments: Before staying in Gold Beach for an extended amount of time you should head to the Aqueduct. The animated there tend to be at a slightly lower level and have less painful special abilities. The lower anchor bugs in the Beach are slightly higher than the Anchor Bugs in the Boardwalk, and can suffice for a while if you want to keep doing Brodie's quest, but you should find the Aqueduct to be a bit more versatile, until you can handle more of the beach than just a few screens.

The old boardwalk here has been purchased by a coalition of pirates and is being renovated for a massive grand opening in the future. Currently, most of the area is still sealed off as the construction continues, but some of what is changing can be seen from the beach, and the pirates give hints of things to come.
The NPCs: Bob, Ted, and Butterfingers Bart.
Recommended CL Level: 5.0 -- 6.0
Comments: If you don't want to go to the Aqueduct yet, run over to the Beach and pick up Brodie's Anchor Bug Quest. Keep running across the Boardwalk and back to Brodie once you defeat 10 anchor bugs. Once you get bored you should head to the Aqueduct and do the Concerned Citizen's Quests.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOtami Ruins
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXclick here for full map.
Long ago, there was a fierce civilization of warriors that built a huge empire in the area. So ferocious was their society that they tore themselves apart with their constant aggression. Eventually, the people themselves disappeared, leaving only their monolithic statues and ruins behind to tell their story. Jungles overgrow the entire area and what was once a massive city-state is now the home of monkeys and macaws.
The NPCs: Blaze, Rin, Lin, Morgan, and Jerry.
Recommended CL Level: 7.0 -- 8.0 (crew recommended due to mobbing)
Comments: There are several chests, crates and baskets in the area. Take advantage! The Mask of Death and Rebirth is one monster you really need to look out for. Crews are highly recommended for them.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXShallow Sea
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXclick here for full map.
The NPCs: Marshall.
Recommended CL Level: 8.0+
Comments: The last three areas are instanced. The number of animated that spawn is also based on your crew size. The bigger your crew, the more there is to kill. There are two chests in the Shallow Sea. You can find them indicated by a C on this map.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXUndersea Ledge
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXclick here for full map.
The NPCs: None.
Recommended CL Level: 8.0+
Comments: There are two crates just to the right when you first enter. There is also a chest on the second area of the Ledge and then a Locker on the third area. To continue on to the Sealab Compound you need to kill the Grunny Sub Commander. He will have a combination that will open the locker and then if you head into the cave you will then have access to the Sealab.

XXXXSealab Compound
The NPCs: Labtech 123 and Labtech X.
Recommended CL Level: 8.0+ (Need at least three people to reach the end.)
Comments: N/A.
