I'm not that familiar with the Hellfire Club, as its more an X-Men thing. I do know that Tony has membership because of his father (as he has inherited a lot of things from his father) he doesn't have any association with the inner circle or upper levels of the club, I seriously doubt if he knew what went on he wouldn't be a member... and really, I would doubt if he's ever been to a club house or meeting (as its never brought up in any Iron Man/Avengers storyline). And it's never come up in an Iron Man comic, or Avengers comic. Tony has his name attached to a lot of stuff that he really has no actual part in.
+So, yes you can make a character that is part of the Hellfire club but it needs to be someone who isn't uber powerful, mass-villain material... having a villain in any game is fine but they need to be like everyone else power-wise or its not fair to anyone and it, speaking plainly, just screws up too much too fast and too easily. (I haven't even looked at characters yet, I've had a long and shitty day so I am behind here, sorry).
+No, it can't be a major bad guy... its too powerful to give to a player
+ I don't really want players playing major bad guys, I've said before if this was a 1x1 game then that doesn't matter... but it's not. I'm already having to tweak and work out powers so they can actually function in a group (thank you Marvel for having a universe full of grossly powerful people) for the bad guys I'm going to use storytelling-wise in future scenes. I want to assume that everyone who joins is a good enough roleplayer and has enough common sense for me to be able to just approve even powerful characters but that's not the case, I'd rather not have this 20 page list of rules and regulations but it seems I might have to. To keep the standard here high enough that people will constantly feel comfortable to join, I can't approve any kind of major villain for a player.

Infinity Gems I'd rather -not- get into, Tony is the last person to have the Reality Infinity Gem which is never even mention in any Iron Man comic(s). And that's getting into Galactus being a mind/dimension bending butt-weed, which I totally don't want to get into and Warlock and random "humor" mini-series that... ugh, no. No infinity gems. I personally don't like the Infinity Gem storylines, they're weak when set against the rest of the comics individual and global stories and have always seem to me to be taken not very seriously and even humorously dispute being grossly powerful items.

Thanks for bringing those damn infinity gems up though, they defiantly need to be added to a "Too Powerful" list. I need to do that.

And we should be able to do something with the Hellfire Club, if people really like that idea or someone has their heart set on using it. The first thing that comes to mind for me is that the Hellfire Club decides they are going to form their own superhero team in retaliation against the new Avenger team. That way it could be set up as a duel-story, it would take more work on my part but I'd be happy to do that. Their motive for doing this would have to be clear and make sense, unless some butthead achieved control of the club at its highest rank and just decides thats what the club is going to focus on now instead of messing with the X-Men.

Or, the club can mess with the X-Men threatening to destroy what's left of the school and team and it can be something the new Avengers team is dragged into as a "first mission" or later mission(s).

RoseRed (you change your name so much I'm not sure what you want me to call you, lol?) this could also work into Jeffery since he has the closets ties to the X-Men out of any other character, currently, in the story.

The thing is with a game that has a storyteller aspect to it, it usually the storyteller acts as the antagonistic forces. Usually, the storyteller doesn't actually play a player-character in the story but... if I don't play, we don't really have enough members and I have the experience to be able to play and be storyteller without being unfair and screwing everyone.

However, I can see it might be fun to put a player antagonistic force into the game... and really, no one has to cooperate with my global storyline whatsoever. So this might offer a secondary bad-thing for peeps... and also, the pro/anti registration act is another huge drama thing in this story for people that no one needs me to dive into. But, player antagonists still can't be too powerful/destroy the world/have unfair advantages over "good guys" or other bad guys, or anyone. Since Marvel badguys are almost always hyper powerful, its something that is easier for the whole group to just not be allowed into the general scape of the game.



... also posting my disclaimer here, since people always tell me I come off as being aggressive or over critical on the internet. I say all this in the most neutral and positive way and am, in no way, trying to be "mean" or anything else.

Do you think you'd like to do something with the Hellfire Club putting pressure on the X Mansion and causing trouble for Jeff, where he needs help from our "new Avengers" team? It has a lot of plot to offer and if you'd like to have some level of control over it, Jeff would sort of be the only one with the first hand experience/memories of the club and the trouble they have caused in the past.

We can do this, for sure, it might take a little while story-wise to get there though heh!

Yes, I have not forgotten about it. I am thinking more (excuse me for being so slow about getting back to you with concrete specifics had a bit of unplanned adventure in the RL!).
