What was the characters childhood like? Do they have any memories which shaped them as adults or resound in their memory?

Describe the characters relationship with their parents or other close family members?

Where do they feel their “place” is in the world?

Religious/spiritual beliefs?

Is the glass generally half-empty, half-full, or unimportant?

Daily habits/core habits

What do they “love” to do? Hate to do?

Free time is spent…?

Are they more introverted or extroverted?

Do they prefer to lead or follow?

How do they solve problems? React to problems?

How do they handle stress? How sensitive are they to stress?

How do they react to aggression/confrontation?

What are their views on marriage, family, relationships?

Are they routine or spontaneous?

What are their morals?

Core/basic traits?

Regrets?

Things they are proud of?

Basic likes/dislikes

Basic views on other people (opposite sex/same sex)?

Flexible or rigid?

What is the highest degree they hold? What is their education centered on? What is their view on education?

Where did they grow up? What was there home town like?

What kind of memories/feelings do they have towards their early education (elementary, middle, and high school)?

Have they traveled? Have they ever traveled outside the country? To where? Why? Did they like it?

Childhood dreams vs. adult realities?

Messy or tidy?

What is their taste in clothing/style?

If they own their own home how is it decorated? Where is it? How much time to do spend there?

Do they have any body art (tattoos, piercing?) If yes, describe what it is, where it is, how it looks, and how they feel towards it.

How important do they feel “the arts” are? Or sports?

If they grew up in another country make sure to research the customs, history, dress, music, celebrations, religions, languages, etc of that country.

Do they forgive easily or hold grudges?

Do they “bounce back” after a disappointing event or become set back by it?

Sleep habits?

Eating habits?

Importance of money to the character?

Importance of being successful to the character?

Do they care/worry about how others perceive them?

Are they easily provoked?

Lover or a fighter?

Value of/view on friendship?

Solo or team?

Home alone or at a party?

Preferences in film/television?

Stereotypes they fall into, use, or believe in?

Do they consider themselves a good or bad person?

Do they “believe” in themselves? In others?

Do “the ends” justify “the means”?

How often, how easily, and how well do they tell a lie?

Nicknames?

Have they ever been arrested, jailed, or convicted of a crime? What was the crime? How do they remember it? If they are guilty, will they admit it?

Do they experience guilt easily? How do they react to feelings of guilt?

Outside or inside?

How comfortable are they with their body?

How comfortable are they with their sexuality?

Would they give up something dear for “the cause” or “the greater good”?

Are they prone more towards: Emotion or logic? Science or religion? Fantasy or fiction?

Dreamer?

Romantic?

Realist?

Do they like to have a plan or just go with the flow?
