I've been single for over a year. Probably a bit too old for the majority on here...and most likely not what people here are looking for.

I should just give up because every relationship I've been in, I've gotten really emotionally hurt.

Ehrm. sweatdrop You're young. You've got plenty of time to find somebody good for you. I also recommend just wait until you really know and enjoy a person before giving each other the label of "girlfriends."
Me...I'm 23 and have been in 4 relationships. One of these four relationships I consider a real relationship. We cared about each other, there was no abuse, it was in person, and lasted a significant amount of time. It was the last relationship I was in. It lasted 2 years and there was some planning to move in together at some point.

I've been single for at least 2.5 years, and I'm in a similar situation as Zero: too old for many on here, and probably not what you're looking for either.
