So here is my information on how our Econemy is/ I persive it. The numbers are real though:
You do realize, economy wise, or where the money is going, is in the following order as strongest. Remember we are not talking currency, but economy.
1) America 2) China 3) Germany and Japan
Now America's economy is nearly 10-15 times stronger than second place. Remember ECONOMY NOT currency. The rest of the world is not going to surpass the United States for years to come. Since nearly the whole world uses the United States as the "middle man" so to speak.
Remember the Great Depression? Thanks to Calven Coolege, president during the the time, our economy was growing, much like China is now, extremely fast, so fast, that wages and unemployment were both down, and that the rest of the world, was well left in the dust. Since our economy was so high, we couldn't compete with the rest of the world, and so we basically broke the bank. Now China right now is growing, but thanks to the Euro, will still have time to grow, but as soon as it reaches a point. The will collapse. They aren't using simple economics, Supply and Demand people. look at the Ipods. A perfect example. It was in high demand, so it was in high supply. They supplied it, now how many people do you see going out getting the new video Ipod, compared to when the first Ipod first came out?
China's military is also going to suffer a great loss. Much like the the Russians. The same happened with Russia. There military power, was so great, that when there economy broke the bank, the corruption destroyed its inner workings. Hey, how do you think the Koreans got nuclear weapons? Sorry "alleged nuclear weapons?"
China will be a Nemesis/ our main rival, but for a very short period, not even long enough to last a decade. There would be no chance in hell though that there would be another World War, well not in our life time, or the next generation life time. Reason: Global economy, right now we are to dependant on each other. And for those of you that say America and China will clash, again no, they rely way to much on us. We friggen by everything they make. How many toys do you pick up that don't say "Made in China?"
Simply it boils down to supply and demand, China is going no ware with the way they are abusing this new found brake.
Sorry if it sounds argumentative, but I wrote this in the ED politics subforum, but got lazy to re write it.
Discuss: Do you believe America will stand far to come (econemy, ew are not taking a popular vote on the pres, please don't bring him up, or the party)
And do you think America military wise still has the respect of power in the world/ will to come?

I think you make a very good point and i agree with you. I feel that the united states will be ecnomically stronger when we begin to rely on our own resources. we depend greatly upon outside goods and even services, and that (if ever) will be our biggest thorn in our side.

america is at the head of the global economy
our system is supreme, and the only reason china is even close to us is because their communist/socialist government allows them (them being the government) to get rich at the expense of the working class, where as here, the working class is seperated more and its easier for them to move up
plus we got way more reasources, diversity, and in general just better qualities than any other nation out there
THATS WHY WE ARE NUMBER 1! (sorry my pride showed its self there, but hey nothing wrong with being proud, just arrogant)
if we want to maintain our extreme ability to create stacks on deck, we need to continue the route we have been following all along, we are what we are because of our emphasis on individual rights over that of the communities and the states

Yes but the problem is the same with China (though its awsome, they are now trying to go all democracy now, which will destroy the econemy) poland is to small for what it can handel. It was intellegent of them to stay out of the Euro though. Unless they went in. Sorry not to read up on the smaller countries of Europe.

No, not at all, the countries are always eaither peaceful, or on the brink of war, each has its own way of running themselves, all the Euro is, is bassically a treaty to get them all merging togather currency, since they have open boarders, they sorta created a crap version of the USA. They will, no chance in hell, merge together. The governments are to far apart, and the probablility of an Autocracy, or even an Oligargy running it, is slim to none, there is just way to much power to be spread. The countries will in no way have that. Trust me on this one. America lives to see another day unaposed biggrin
Forgive me for my spelling.

If they did merge, I'm guessing that they would be equal to America, the only reason why they would be under us is that we have a strong central government, and despite our size, are bassically one culture. Thus givng us the upper hand that we will always remain merged. No matter how good it would be the countries would fear revolution since the people with a country that size would defently be ignored, just to much to manage.

Not to mention, it would probably be giving them second thoughts as the Rioters in France. It was hard enough to stop one city, the government would be way to week. They would be scared, cause you can't please everyone, so with a population that size and the multiculture society that would evolve, some countries may think they are better than others, and bassically it would be mass caos. Again, sorry for the spelling.

Though I am kinda worried that they will try to take over the US economically. It would be a great symbol wouldn't though: "the US helped itself become #2 just because theire too lazy to do their own work and had to outsource"?
