It was the Elite Four's Spiritomb, Level 62. I was down to my last Pokemon, a level 30 Haunter, and I thought I was screwed. (I lost this match anyway, but...)
Alright, the Spiritomb was already down to like 8/10 of it's max HP. My haunter used Curse first, and then the Spiritomb used Pain Split, making my Haunter's HP go up and her's go down! Next, I used Confuse Ray to confuse it, it hurt itself, and the curse knocked it out~! (This JUST happened and I HAD to share~!)
Extreme luck or good strategy?

not bad, i had a lvl 1 litwick beat a lvl 53 audino using will-o-wisp and waiting out although my feat isnt to impressive due to the fact that audino only learns normal moves so ghost is unable to be beaten. i did have a similar scenarion though. 4th gen facing cynthea with only a lvl 45 milotic as my last pokemon, somehow i was able to take out 4 of her pokemon using surf, mirror coat, recover, ice beam, and a on of hyper potions
