I mmoved my room around earlier this week so my 10g would be right next to and facing my bed, that way I can look at it while I lay down. Well, while I was moving stuff, my 2.5g was on a chair and I accidentally knocked it over, so now it's cracked! And of course I've been thinking of getting a female betta for a while now and that tank would be perfect for one. Right now I'm in the process of repairing it. The crack is only on one side, but a few pieces came out. Usually with these types of cracks, you would remove the entire panel and replace it with a new one, but I'm figuring that since it's only a 2.5, it's not going to be holding that much water, so a simple siliconing the pieces back on and the cracks should work. I will keep you updated on my progress. As of today, I have siliconed the cracks. While waiting for that to dry, I am going to piece together the pieces and silicone those, then tomorrow I will insert that piece back onto the tak and silicone it, then the day after hopefully testing to see if it can hold water.

I would just replace it. I tried that with a 5.75 gallon that had the bottom corner chipped out of it and a two 3 inch cracks branching off and the thing cracked in the middle of the night and made a horrible mess all over my carpet (luckly I dont thave padding under carpet....)

I don't have money to get a new one right now and if I did it wouldn't be justifiable to spend it. I'm going to repair the broken pieces and then attach some strong plastic to the inside to cover the entire panel. I'm pretty sure it will hold.

All you have to do is go to some where that sells furniture, and ask if they have any bits of glass from some thing that broke. I bet they'd give it to you for free or at least really cheap. Then you just need some silicone (which I'm guessing you have?) and a razor knife. 3nodding

Oh, I thought you meant the whole tank! Lol. i never thought of going somewhere and asking, but I did think of using the tank cover (which is glass) if all else fails.
