I played it several times and boy, does this game rock so hard. I have never seen a good FPS game with some RPG elements and a great storyline.

Too bad I don't have Invisible War.

Deus Ex was FAR FAR a head of its time.

DE:IW was a step down. The game play was toned down to bring more people into it but left fans feeling betrayed.

A remake is out of the question ION Storm and Warren Spector are gone. crying crying crying crying crying crying crying crying crying crying crying crying crying

Invisible War is still an above average game. I really liked it, though it has some serious annoyances.
Just don't get the XBox version wink

I did feel betrayed by Deus Ex: Invisible War...

The Dragon Tooth wasn't as powerful as it was in Deus Ex, it was good with the choices you could make and the results from individual choices, I loved doing missions then betraying people, lol

But it still wasn't as good as Deus Ex...

Hell, I loved IW alot more than I did the original. Great graphics, physics, everything. Nothing compares to beating a homeless guy with a baton, and then throwing a flaming barrel at him with full strength mods.

Classic IW moment:
*Me hacking pop machine*
Egyptian woman walks up to me: What are you doing, I don't understand.
*I throw a metal cart at her kid and run like hell from the guards*

I wish they'd react to that stuff.
Throwing junk is like, the innovation of the 21st century! Why not make it better?

Yes, throwing random crap at people's head at high speeds is fun...

Reminds me of IW, when I used to always kill guards with coffee cups...

The good ol' days.

Oh that's right!
The strength aug made it do damage!
Just for that, IW just went respect++

Of course, and it's a passive aug. so you don't have to activate it like in the original DX.

I guess this is the only thread we had on Deus Ex...

Anyways, I just felt like bumping it rather than talk in the introduction sticky.

I hope 3 is good... from what I understand it doesn't have anyone from the original developers but maybe it's a good thing. They'll be under pressure not to disappoint and hopefully at least make something identical to DX 1 but with new content.

According to an article in PCPowerplay Issue #161 February 2009, Atari are developing it and they're going to be using the Tomb Raider Underworld engine with some addition stuff built on top of it.

Being 14 and having grown up with the serries has probobly gave me some bias and with that said, I love the serries. As far as the TRU engine goes, I'm fine as long as it does not ruin the serries for me. I would hate to see a perfect (as in every game was a hit for me) serries go right down the drain because an over-zelous creator took over and and couldn't handle the project, and was to lazy to make a engine to conture to the play stlye of the game.

The serries so far has given me high expectations of this third one.
The 1st game, I loved and will always be something to recosider in my "now-playing" list. The second was just as well and had the credentials
all though this one just handded hacking to you. All in all I hope who ever is doing the game and what ever engine they are using doesn't fall into the presure.

......... since i know some of you are VERY interested in hack the game here....

HERE is the way to hack it

Before doing this, please backup your "dx2ui.ini" and "dx2menu.ini"
in your dx:iwsystem folder. Open up dx2menu.ini and scroll down
to where it says cheat codes where it should say:

[Cheats...]
{
[Player Movement...]
{

Now, edit it so it should say and look like this:

[Cheats...]
{
[Cheat Codes...]
{

<'GOD PLAYER',GOD PLAYER>
<'INFINITEBIOENERGY', INFINITEBIOENERGY>
<'FULLBIOENERGY', FULLBIOENERGY>
<'INFINITEAMMO', INFINITEAMMO>
<'FULLAMMO', FULLAMMO>
<'FULLPLASMA', FULLPLASMA>
<'FULLMATTER', FULLMATTER>
<'OPENSESAME', OPENSESAME>
<'ALLBIOMODS', ALLBIOMODS>
<'SETBIOMODSLEVEL 3', SETBIOMODSLEVEL 3>
}
[Player Movement...]
{

Ok, halfway done. Next, edit the debug menu. Open your dx2ui.ini
and scroll down to [DebugMenu].Edit it to say and look like this:

[DebugMenu]
Active=ACTIVE
Type=Menu
Placement_X=RIGHT
Placement_Y=BOTTOM
PauseGame=False
AutoSizeWidth=True
AutoSizeHeight=True
TextColor_A=24
Color_Normal_A=0
TextShadowColor_A=0
SelectedColor_A=48
UnselectedColor_A=24
Font=font8
MenuDefinitionFile=DX2Menu.ini
ListenForMouseClicks=True
InputLayerName=DebugMenu

Now, save the 2 files, open the game, and load up a saved game.
Press "Escape". Now move the mouse to the lower-right corner of the screen
and click "Cheats" then click "Cheat Codes". There, now you can use the
cheats!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Great... now I have them... how do I use them?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In order to use cheats, load up a game and press "Escape". Then, just
click through the branches to get to the proper command. "AI Diagnostics"
is where you can mess with the NPCs thoughts. wink "Cheats","Cheat Codes" is
where you can turn on God mode and Infinite Ammo and all the other things.
To mod weapons, go to "Cheats","Weapon Mods" and click on the weapon mod
that you want to install. NOTE: You must have the weapon you want to mod in
your hand in order to mod it. Or, you can spawn a weapon mod, drop it, pick
it up again, then you can mod your weapon the old fashion way.

More Questions!

Q: WTF!!!! I spawned a Bio-Mod Canister/Weapon Mod and it's in my inventory... but I can't
use it!
A: Calm down, just drop the conister or weapon mod and pick it up again.

Q: Can we spawn people? And watch them kill each other?
A: No, not yet. And I'm pretty sure that we won't be able to.

Q: Ok, I'm messing with the AI and now I want to "ghost"... how do I travel back through the
branches to get back to "Cheat Codes"?
A: Easy! Go back into the game and press "Backspace" until you get to the menu you want!

Q: Who the Hell are you?
A: I'm malitiax

Q: Can you bind menu commands to keys?
A: No.

Q: That menu is annoying... make it go away!!
A: Can't. smile unless you use your back up, but then you would have to re hack it lol

Q: Wait... so you are telling me this game is SO unoptimized and incomplete that it doesn't have
cheats unless you hack and edit some files?
A: Yep. smile

Q: Is mass spawning gone forever?
A: We think so... sad

Q: Bullsh*t you made this alone...
A: Your right! CadeF found the debug mode and most of the cheats, and jafodude discovered how to create
items in your inventory.

this is from ign and is appropriated to like right for the situation. the only reason i copied it is that its a HELL alot easier than writing it.being asked the basic questions is taken care of at the end.

I've just bought Deus Ex in the That's Hot! Double Shots! series that came with Just Cause. I'm playing it right now with the High Definition Texture Pack installed and I'm wondering if you have played it with any of the mods out there? And if there are any that I should have a look at.
