As you all should know, there are rules and regulations with every guild, and Role Player's Paradise is no exception to this. These rules must be followed at all times within the guild, regardless of any given role play's rules. Seeing how the guild harbors the role plays, it is 'higher ranked' so to say, so the guild rules hold more importance than any other rule written down within these forums.

Rule 1: Listen to the Captain, Vice Captain(s), and Crew Member(s) as they are the ones who run this place and make it what it is. Treat them with respect as well, because they hold the power to flip your world upside down in this guild if they so choose.
It's good to be on good list with the Guild Mods as some may be more inclined to favor you during situations where you need a Mod's presence. Just keep that in mind.

Rule 2: Don't be rude, to anyone. Guild Mods and fellow Guild Members should be treated with respect as there is a living breathing person with emotions and opinions on the other side of that computer screen. And whoever said 'Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words shall not harm me' is full crap.
Basically, treat others as you wish them to treat you. Karma factors in heavily. Treat someone badly, and they'll give you crap. Treat them nice, and they'll help you.

Rule 3: Literacy is highly loved. Though we cannot all be perfect with our grammar, spelling, and punctuation it asked upon each member to make an effort to actually use these three elements of literature properly.
As long as it's not so horrible your post cannot be even read, you'll be fine. But that doesn't make it okay for you to slack off and make basic mistakes.

Rule 4: Use basic English when speaking with another person. l33t speech is highly discouraged as it is hard for some people to understand, and it's also very annoying and generally very stupid to use.
Just talk like a normal person and you'll be fine.

Rule 5: Do not advertise guilds or websites.
It's extremely rude to show up here, but then tell people to go somewhere else. It's bit like going to a house party, but then complaining the whole night how much better your house is compared to the host's. Talking and discussing is fine, but out right telling people to join something is rude against RPP. Don't do it. If you want to promote some growth in another guild, talk with a Crew Member about affiliating the guild with RPP.

Rule 6: Enjoy yourself here. We do this to have fun, and that's what it should be all about.

THREE STRIKES, AND YOU'RE OUT

The Guidelines of Role Player's Paradise

Role Player's Paradise handles rule breaking and violations in a three-strike system. If a member is reported breaking the rules on three separate occasions, whether it's a guild rule or a role play rule, they shall be punished accordingly.

The idea and system is fair and simple, but the works of it are a bit complicated.

When a guild member is reported for breaking a rule, the report is then reviewed by moderators. Depending on the severity of the break, the report may count as one whole strike, or only a portion of a strike (portions are broken in thirds; they can be 1/3 or 2/3). When a member has a total of three strikes against them, they are punished with a probation period.

When a member is put on probation, they are removed from the guild for a certain amount of time. How long the probation last depends on if the member has or hasn't been on probation before. After probation, a guild invitation is sent to the member to allow them back in if they so choose to return. If a member does return, and ends up on probation again, their next probation period will be more the previous.

Should a member end up with three more strikes against them after having three probation periods, they will be automatically punished with a ban from Role Player's Paradise. In turn, bans can be challenged either by a supporting member or by the banned member. Pleas can be made to the moderators, who shall review the case. Should the ban be lifted, the returning member must not break any further rules or else they shall be banned again immediately upon the first rule break. Again, a case can pleaded for their return, and they may be accepted under the same terms. However, if they break yet another rule and end up being banned for a third time, the ban will be permanent. No pleas, arguments, or demands will uplift a permanent ban.

Bans that can be argued against have three chances to be uplifted. With each new attempt, a new argument must be made, alongside the older arguments. If a ban is not uplifted after the third case, it stays permanent, regardless of any further arguments found and made.

EXILING THE MUTES

As in any guild, there is a terrible problem within Role Player's Paradise. We have a high population of mute members.

Mute Members are those who do not make a single post, or only a handful of required posts. No or little word is ever heard from a Mute Member.

This has become an increasing and frustrating problem for Role Player's Paradise.

In an effort to berid of mutes, and motivate those who successfully who avoided the chopping block to become more active, we shall remove a small group of members at random times during every month.

Here's how this will work.
A date will randomly picked out every month to ban Mute Members. At least one week before the date, an announcement will be set out as a warning to all, so that you have a chance to get in gear and save yourself from being removed.
Do not expect the removal date to be exactly one week after the announcement. It could be thirteen days, it could twenty. It may even be exactly seven. But none the less, you will always have at least one week to make posts and become active before you are removed.

For every removal day, a small group of people will be taken out at random. This is so that others may learn from their mistakes and learn that we are taking this very seriously. As the guild population changes, so will the size of the group removal.

As of October 25th, two inactive members will be removed.
