We'll there's always the whole separation of church and state argument. Since we're not suppose to let religious beliefs get in the way of politics, you could always use that argument for the pro side.
You could also mention how couples who are married get taxed differently then those who aren't, so you could also look at it from an economical view.

It depends on if you're supposed to be debating for or against it...really, truly...there are ways using facts (not religion) to debate against legalizing gay marriage. What are the specifics of what you're debating?

Ayame_M My group is a group of Moderate Conservatives debating for gay marriage. we r called the youth idea party That sounds paintful. I don't believe in marriage period even if its between a man and a woman. However, since people will continue to do so, I believe that people should be able to marry who they love regardless of gender

How about arguing that the government get out of the marriage business all together as it constitutes an unconstitutional joining of church and state, where the state dictates according to the morals governed by large organized religions. Did you know that the Catholic Church only recognizes marriages that are performed and/or sanctioned by said church? You can point out that persons in civil unions, and this includes an ever increasing number of retirees who stand to loos pensions if they remarry, are not granted the same rights and privileges of married couples. You'll need a list if you can.
(Granted I'm probably too late, but there you have my input anyway. LOL)
