Seems we're often scrambling to have something extra to offer in our threads in order to attract more attention.
I know right now I'm doing the BG Jackpot, and Pyriya's doing a Nitemare Sash raffle. Aalvye and I had been tossing around the idea of a trivia contest, but that takes a lot of planning.
Any other nifty ideas that have worked?

Raffles work really well I think.
Some sort of random number game is fun too. I've done it before (and I may again) where I sell tickets to random roll for certain prizes. You buy a ticket for one roll. Random 1-3 and get one of the three prizes available.
Seems like the quick games are good, though they're not really money makers unless you sell tickets to play.

Yeah, the trick is to come up with something where you'll be able to come out ahead, yet the prize is still worth going after.

Since it's for charity, people would most likely be more willing to bid large amounts on something not worth as much. Perhaps a an auction might work.

I was just thinking about a new game idea. Not really a new game though.
A matching game of sorts, for gold and prizes! I'm sure many of you might remember the memory cards you'd lay out and try to match pairs and then remove em.
Still trying to figure out how to actually set up a matching game, but i think it'd be clever if put together just right.

[5] [6] [7] [8]
[9] [10] [11] [12]
That's a rough diagram, but I think it'd be best if we found a way to select one person to play each day, and they can try to match as many pairs as possible, with two mistakes allowed. (Just like in Super Mario Bros 3!) If they manage to win the lot in one go (with 0-1 mistakes), give em a bonus!

I wonder how I would "reveal" if the "cards" they've chosen are matches or not. And to coordinate player with when I'm on? hrmmm Speaking of Matching games though... I COULD do a variation on the old game show Match Game where I put up a phrase like: "Cornelia was so shocked! She came home and found her ______ on the _______!" I'll hide my answers somewhere and everyone guesses. If anyone matches what my words are, they win a prize!

I remember watching Match Game a lot of GSN. Not sure I can do any Charles Nelson Reilly imitations. Maybe Richard Dawson, but moreso his Family Feud style, and that'd mean kissing every girl.
