In the new Dark Dawn game, new historical informations arises over the course of the story. Ancient people and regions given names, new ruins, etc come to light. While I personally may have some objections with the content, it is nonetheless considered canon and is therefore worth discussing.

As you encounter it in the game or read about it below, consider whether using or omitting the new information would positively or negatively affect the RP.

Since the game is still new, and the RP isn't moving much at the moment on account of finals/midterms etc, (no doubt), there's no rush to make an immediate decision, however I would like to set a deadline based on the progression of the RP: say, by the time the Mercury Lighthouse party disembarks from Imil. By the time that happens, I hope that everyone will have gotten far enough to be able to have an educated opinion on this matter.

If you feel that there are additional aspects that I have missed or overlooked please let me know.

Below I will note some of the important aspects that I feel might affect the RP, as well as include my personal opinions on them. Below this line is pretty much all spoilers so don't go down or scroll quickly/with your eyes closed etc. For now I will white it out but I'll unwhite it after the turn over to 2011 for easier reading.

but really,
start

Jinei people - name for the wide spread ancient race of powerful adepts: responsible for the psynergy machines in Passaj, Ayuthay, Belinsk, and the Apollo Lens, and probably more, I don't remember if they said they were specifically responsible for the lighthouses though I think it may have been implied.

This differs from the RP in that we stated that the ancient Leumerians were responsible for the lighthouses. It may be worth noting that pretty much all the lore of GSDD mentions almost nothing about Leumeria. Including why/how the hell it sank/doesn't exist anymore in DD. Chalk up another point that will have to be covered in the next game, which is coming by the way. The ending couldn't have made that more obvious.

more to come later

I'm for incorporation so long as we do it smoothly- IE, a solid transition that we can make sound logical.

That's part of the issue at hand. Is such a transition possible? I may be able to work something out, but I want to get other people's opinions and ideas before going ahead and doing so.

Also, I expect to see a lot more of you after finals week. D<

The Jinei COULD be the name of the ancient lemuriens? 0w0;

Or The Jinei could be the actual builders of the Lighthouses, hired by the lemurians... I dunno...

I'd thought of that, but between the Jinei's seeming widespreadedness and how the Leumerians seemed to prefer to keep to themselves, it doesn't seem as likely. Still not impossible, but...

The only mention of Leumeria i remember seeing i think was some npc in Yamata saying how there used to be some island nation or something south of them that suddenly disappeared, and he/she didn't know any more.

I can't think of anything clever right now besides the Jinei being hired by the Lemurians to build the lighthouses, so yeah. :/

Oh, you will. 3nodding I'm not going to just drop you guys. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that I haven't been able to sit down at a computer for more than 5 minutes, I would have posted several more times already. Dx Stupid not having a working laptop charger or wi-fi in the dorms...

Also, if we incorporate the new material, I foresee new people wanting to belong to
the Umbra Clan. I'm not sure how fond the rest of you are even with their existence.

The concept itself is novel enough, but given the fact that there are about ten years worth of fanfics about Dark and light Adepts it comes off as a bit unoriginal, not that I really think it's Camelot/Nintendo's fault though.

I'd just be happy if Dark was not spun as 'evil' and light not spun as 'good.' There are other interpretations. The one I classically like and often use is that dark is the essence of combination, of fusion, of mixing, while light, as it's opposite, is purity, separation, etc.

Obviously, the Jenei were all adepts. However, you would have different clans - Lemurians, for one, gaining the power of Mercury. I can easily see the Jenei being like the Jedi from Star Wars - wise men and peace keepers, using their powers only when nessecary, such as fighting off bad guys trying to use Alchemy to wreck the world while the Jenei (including Lemurians) were trying to build the Lighthouses.

Also, Lemuria could be the Athens of Old Weyard - the place where the Jenei meet, thus keeping Lemuria importan. I think that all the new info should be incorporated.

That's possible, though if they were keeping the peace, they ultimately failed/had to seal all(most) of alchemy away, not that that's a bad thing with respect to our RP.

Well, sure, so did the Jedi. This just opens up amazing plot devices to be filled by our villains. I see no way that this can detract from the RP if it is written in well.

We could do it Lord of the Rings Style, with the Construction of Luna Tower after Sol Sanctum.
