Gaia has had optional packs for zOMG. Well in the latest addition to this, they have released "Buddy"s and buccaneer's boardwalk to the highest bidder as the expression goes.
Buddy:
What's the purpose of this buddy? from what it seems, It's kinda like Pikachu in the third pokemon game, it follows you and makes faces at you. I personally don't know if it fights with you or not, if it does add an extra attack instead of only following you and doing not a whole much practical use. for those of you who are really that interested, both kiki and OMG cost 499 gaia cash. these items are semi soul-bound, meaning, once used, they are soulbound but until activation, they can be sold. Kiki is going for 450k but that will probably rise. The OMG is setting at about 500K in gold.
As for the Buccaneer's boardwalk Headstart Ticket:
It is 249 per ticket in cash, you do the math to the physical money it costs. So they are expecting to make money off of it or try to. The first ticket will be soulbound, however any other ticket purchased after the first won't be. So they can be sold on the market and inflate that some more. It's sitting at about 250k in gold.
Personally I understand that zOMG needs the support and to make the profit. I personally just don't like it. Especially if the buddy product doesn't attack, which would make it seem nearly pointless.

Cash is only needed temp until it opens to the public. The selling of the headstart tickets was actually user voted choice. But eventually it will open to all.
As it is, it isnt even worth the money to go in there. Wait until it opens to the public.
As for the buddies. They're a new concept and Gaia has talked about them doing other things. [JK] was talking about it possibly talking to us, and doing various other things. It will fight later on, right now they just stalk you around.
So buddies have more potential than most think.

I bought a Kiki and I'm anxious to see what else they'll be doing other than stalking. Talking would be 'cute", an attack would be awesome. biggrin
As Koichi said, they will go higher in price in the MP.....because they are only in the cash shop for 2 weeks.
The Boardwalk....nothing to do right now; it's a hang out, nothing more. Save you $$ and your gold.
I *love* zomg and would hate to see it end. I'm just not sure how spending cash is going to help. They said the issue was lack of interest (Because dear Gaia, you need to open more levels for us!! stressed ). Perhaps it's a ploy to get us to buy more GC.

And....did we all open our Cursed Pumpkins from the Halloween event??
A new (non-soulbound) ring and 2 items....Marshall in a diving suit (he stands a bit TOO close for my liking biggrin ), and a Ghostie in 4 color choices.

I like neither of the ideas. If the pets are gonna attack/heal/support, then fine, they're probably worth buying for the hardcore players then. But what Gaia is THINKING about doing, and what Gaia REALLY does...
The ticket is just the same as the red mini wings, though an item instead of a hangout is more worth the gold. User voted or not; it sucks neutral

Yea, I prefer they develop it further first (even if that means I eventually have to pay more for it). But personally, I think the buddies talking would be kind of annoying after a while, especially if the dialogue is "canned". Still, it IS fresh, and that's a start.
