Name: Lilith
Role: Devil Hunter
Age: Mid twenties
Race: Human; Demon Tainted
Gender: Female
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 132lbs
Appearance: More than anything, Lilith gives a distinct impression of impending peril. This aura almost seems at odds with her slightly curled white hair or her perfectly made up yet unnaturally red eyes, but nevertheless everything about her screams of a barely suppressed danger. She is fairly average in height, and has a generous hourglass figure that she openly displays through a suggestive wardrobe. Her most prominent features are the black rose tattoo on her right shoulder and the snakebite piercings below her lips. For the most part, her fashion sense leans heavily upon gothic influence. She is often found in a corset, leather pants, and boots. The only real staple of her fashion is the spiked collar that is clasped around her neck, which has a broken chain dangling from it.
History: Lilith was born to loving parents in a small town in the United States. Most of her extremely early life was uneventful, although if you asked she couldn't recount any of it to you. Not long after she'd turned five, she was orphaned when her town became a hot spot for demonic activity. The only reason she survived at all was because a hunter intervened before she became a victim as well. At the time, Lilith was glad to have been saved, but as the events of her life progressed she began to wonder if perhaps it would have been better if she had been killed by demons as well. (But let's not skip ahead to the ending of her story, shall we?)
Lilith was taken in by the hunter, who was part of a renegade group comprised of discharged military officers, hunters, and a handful of scientists. This group was determined to create the "perfect soldier" - a being with all the abilities and advantages of a demon, but who still had the morals and heart of a human. It was for this reason they "took in" young orphans who had nowhere else to go, only to inject them with a serum distilled from blood drawn from captured demons. Most of the children didn't survive this, and even when they survived the initial injection, the follow-up tests more often than not killed them off.
Lilith was a special case. She only barely survived the initial injection. The demon blood in the serum instantly attacked her system, causing her to come down with a high fever. She was immobilized for almost two weeks because of it, but eventually her immune system fought it off. Although it was not without permanent effects - the stress of the event combined with the demon blood bleached the color out of her hair and eyes. The following "tests" were no easier on her. Many of the earlier ones were simply to check out her physical and mental stability.
Once it was determined that at that point in time she was stable, the real tests began. She was trained to fight demons, and grew up being taught how to be a weapon. None of this truly seemed unusual to her, as she hardly remembered her life before being taken in by the group. But as she grew older, it became apparent that despite the advantages her tainted blood afforded her, there was one growing weakness impossible to overlook. Her mental stability was rapidly deteriorating.
This wasn't even discovered until she was well into her mid teens, when a "training session" against some low level demons ended with her brutally slaughtering not only the demons but also her handler. At that point she was sedated, and the group considered abandoning the project and erasing all evidence the experiments had been performed in the first place. Of course, they didn't have a chance to reach a decision on this. The sedatives they'd used on Lilith had worn off far too quickly, and in her heightened state she turned on the entire group.
When she'd finally snapped out of her craze, she found herself in the lowest level of the facility that had been her home for so long. It was there she found Astarot - a powerful demon who'd been kept in a perpetually weakened state and held captive. It was his blood that was used to taint her own, and despite her merciless slaughter of the humans who had supposedly cared for her for so many years, she couldn't bring herself to slay the demon. Whether this was due to some sense of kinship as a result of his taint in her blood is unknown. Nevertheless she released him from his bonds, and feeling indebted to her, Astarot chose to become her first Devil Arm.
Lilith left the facility then, and took up the occupation of a Devil Hunter. Of course with such an occupation, it didn't take her long to realize just how unstable she'd become. It was for this reason that she sought out help and eventually ended up taking a heavy dose of antipsychotics. (These were unfortunately only truly effective if she sated her destructive urges often enough.)
The remaining years of her life have been... Not quite as eventful. She's continued her work as a Devil Hunter and for the most part there have been very few incidents regarding her mental instability. But an uneventful life can only last so long given her occupation.
Personality: Above all, Lilith is a woman determined to keep the fragile grasp on sanity she has left. While she doesn't often display any "classic" signs of insanity, it's quite easy for others to tell she isn't all there. Simply put, there is an aura of barely restrained madness that seems to cling to her, and she puts great amounts of effort into keeping this as inconspicuous as possible. This is more out of a desire for self-preservation than to be "accepted" by others.
As it is, Lilith has a rather blatant disregard for most commonly accepted social conventions. She'll be the first one to ignore an unspoken rule regarding etiquette, and the last one to give a damn about it. She isn't someone who will wait until she's behind closed doors to insult a person - she'll do it right to their face in broad daylight. She seems to have very little shame about anything, whether it be things commonly seen as sexual or the dignity of others. As long as someone isn't getting on her bad side, she couldn't care less about what they think of her.
Although Lilith isn't entirely easy to get along with, it's hard to deny that when she's lucid she is a good person at heart. She sates most of her violent and destructive urges through her job as a demon hunter, but this can only do so much for her. She's still prone to unpredictable and at times dangerous mood swings, and can easily go from perfectly content to nearly blind with rage at the tip of a hat. It's best to either tread lightly around her, or to come at her with a level head and a brave heart.
Despite her flaws, Lilith is an exceptionally good person to have on your side. She has an unflinching, and undying loyalty to those who've earned their place in her circle of trust. She's more than willing to throw herself under the bus if it will keep someone she cares about safe, and she rarely expects the same in return. Violence towards those she's closest to is one of the surest ways to set her on a rampage - one that is uncontrollable even by her standards. While she cares about keeping humanity in general safe, it is the select few she dares to call "friend" that she fights the hardest for.
Skills: Having been trained for most of her life to be a weapon, Lilith tends to know her way around a battlefield. She's decent with hand-to-hand combat, but heavily prefers the feel of a blade of some kind in her hands to going into battle without one. She's trained with a variety of different martial weapons and firearms, but most of this knowledge is rusty from disuse. The only ones she seems truly proficient with anymore are the ones she keeps on her. Tactics were never her thing, and while she can use them against the demons they are necessary to slay, she's more likely to leap in head first and try out a strategy later.
Strengths: The changes to Lilith's appearance weren't the only effects of having demon blood introduced to her system. She may not look it, but she has a decent amount of physical strength. While this is nowhere near the strength of a true half-demon, it is enough to make fighting demons and handling heavier weapons much easier than it would be for normal humans. In general she's also a bit sturdier than most humans. Injuries don't phase her quite as much (although what is lethal to a human is still lethal to her), and her immune system can take care of most illnesses. In addition to this she also heals a tiny bit faster than is normal - enough to be noticeable but not enough to be suspicious.
Weaknesses: First and foremost, Lilith's most crippling weakness is her own mental instability. The smallest things can set her off on a rampage, and the antipsychotics she takes can only do so much to stop this. Because of the taint in her blood, medications are not nearly as effective as they should be - they run their course far too quickly. She has to routinely take the most powerful antipsychotic currently available on the market and at the highest dosage that is non-lethal, but it's only a matter of time before her system becomes completely accustomed to the drugs. Lilith is well aware that her time is severely limited because of this. Her mental state is only deteriorating further with time, and it won't be long before the drugs no longer work - at which point she'll be a danger to both herself and others. Because of this, she tends to take on demons that by all means should be out of her league, in the hopes of being killed before it comes to that. She'd never admit to be suicidal, but it sure does seem that way sometimes. She'd never take her own life, but she is rather actively seeking her own death to prevent an inevitable tragedy. In addition to this, her left shoulder is weaker than it should be - an old wound from a demon that never quite healed. While it left no scar, it still causes her pain every so often and the bones are weaker there than in the rest of her body.
Weapons: Outside of Astarot, Lilith carries only two weapons. She carries a Glock G17 for use on demons where she needs to attack from a distance, but it is rarely (if ever) used. Despite being mostly unused, she always carries three spare magazines when it's in her possession, just in case. (Each magazine has the capacity to carry seventeen 9mm rounds.) In addition to this, she is rarely found without a dagger strapped to her right thigh. Again, this weapon is hardly ever used, and is mostly to prevent her from being caught unarmed in the event she is somewhere that carrying Astarot would be too conspicuous.
Devil Arms:
Name: Astarot
Description: For the most part, Astarot is fairly typical for a broadsword. The only thing that really sets it apart from others is the fact that the rain guard takes the shape of a dragon's head, and the actual guard is reminiscent of downward facing dragon wings. The mouth of the dragon is clamped around the beginning of the blade, and originating from its mouth are intricately carved designs that span the first six inches of the blade. The broadsword is approximately four feet long, including the hilt.

Manifestation: Not much changes with Astarot between when its powers are active versus when they are inactive. In fact, if you weren't looking exceptionally closely, you probably wouldn't notice a change at all. The only true changes are mostly superficial - the dragon's eyes glow a rather brilliant red, the guard flares out a bit and takes on the appearance of spread wings, and the carved pattern on the blade begins to glow faintly with almost flame-like colors.
Power: Astarot's power is that of fire, although what it can do with this fire is rather limited. The only thing the Devil Arm is capable of doing is coating its blade with the flames, which are harmless to its wielder. These flames can cause some extremely nasty burns, but they are completely useless unless Lilith can hit her opponent.
History: Lilith's history is more intimately tied to Astarot than that of most other Devil Arms and their wielders. In fact, it was Astarot's DNA which was initially injected into Lilith. Once she was in her late teens, she snapped and went on a rampage through the facility he was being held at. She came out of it just in time to see him, and rescued him from his captivity. While he isn't particularly grateful to her (and he will emphatically claim it is impossible for a demon to feel such), he recognizes he owes her a debt for what she's done for him. It is because of this that he serves her as a Devil Arm, although it remains to be seen what will happen to him upon her death.
