Submachine Guns

An effective assassination and CQB (close quarters battle) weapon, the M66-SD submachine gun is fitted with a sound suppressor and telescopic sight. The high temperature alloy of the suppressor keeps the weapon silent in full-auto fire mode, although single shots allow for better cooling and increased accuracy. The Shadow Marshals refer to it as the "silent death". This weapon is Luger's weapon of choice.

The StA11 sub-machine gun is manufactured by Stahl Arms and wielded by Shocktroopers in the Campaign, and the Saboteur and Soldier class in the multiplayer. It has a cylinder magazine that holds 48 rounds, with a max-carry limit of 384, or 8 magazines. It has a high rate of fire, which compensates for the low damage. Only downsides is that the player must reload often in order to avoid being caught with an empty mag. Firing from the hip is very effective at short range, though shouldering the weapon makes it dangerous at medium range as well. Interestingly, shouldering the weapon does not slow the player's movement speed as it does with all other weapons (excluding the LS13 Shotgun), although it does limit turnspeed slightly.

Light Machine Guns

he M224-A1 LMG chaingun is the ISA's answer to the Helghast StA3 LMG machine gun. It has retained the power of the heavy ISA M224-A3 Heavy Support Weapon and its mounted counterpart the M224 MOMAG which are all manufactured by ISA, but has lost the single-shot missile shooting capability of the fore in order to increase its maneuverability. Being lighter, it can be fired from a shouldered position using its iron sights and so gains a considerable accuracy advantage over the StA3 Stova LMG. The weapon is favored by ISA Strike force squads for laying down sustained suppressive fire, while other squad members flank enemy positions. It is similar to the Helghast StA3 LMG in that both are mainly used for supporting fire. It fires from 56 round belts box with a limit of 280 rounds (5 boxes) at any given time. Fired from the hip, it is deadly in bursts (or sustained fire in close quarters), but shouldering the weapon allows for more accuracy at medium to long range.

The M224-A3 Heavy Support Weapon is the primary ISA support weapon with a chain-gun and missile launcher attachment, and like its lighter counterpart, the M224-A1 Light Machine Gun, and mounted counterpart, the M224 MOMAG, it is manufactured by ISA. Although this particular weapon could make any trained user a walking tank. It's massive bulk and recoil caused many severe and paralyzing spinal problems over the time of only a week if not physically fit enough.

The StA3 "Stova" Light Machine Gun is used by the Helghast as a support weapon and emplaced weapon, both manufactured by Stahl Arms. It fires from a 100 round (96 in Killzone 2), helical drum and has a very high rate of fire. However, its accuracy leaves something to be desired due to the recoil, limiting accurate fire to very short bursts. It excels as a close range weapon, allowing for indiscriminate spraying, but is also effective at medium to long range in the hands of a skilled player (especially when crouched in Killzone 2).

The VnS-10B Cerberus chaingun is an experimental heavy-class infantry weapon, that was deployed by the Helghast for use with their supreme troopers. Due to it's extremely heavy weight and tremendous recoil it is used exclusively by the supreme troopers, it has earned the name "bullet hose" by the Helghast due to it's extremely high rate of fire. The weapon is not usable by the player in campaign or multiplayer. The gun usually needs no more then a few shots to kill the player depending on the skill setting and it appears in Killzone: Liberation.
