What it is: What it says. It is a joint competition encompassing four RP guilds: Druid Saga, WINGS, Lybold Project and Ancient Regalia. The prize for winning is 100k in gaia gold and a character sketch by yours truly.
How it works: There will be three rounds. Each round will have a theme which entrants must explore using the setting and characters (not just your own) within the RP settings of these four guilds.
Each round will have a submission thread for entrants to post up their stories, and a discussion thread where we can all talk about the stories that were submitted. Entries will be judged by our lovely panel of judges, and scored/graded according to creativity, originality, character accuracy, writing technique and style. Scores will be averaged and displayed. A tally of the scores at the end of the third round, will tell us who the winner is.
If there is a tie, we will hold a tie-breaker round. Currently, judges are Emperor Zensekai and StrawberryZ0mbie. Looking for one more judge.
Please post questions or suggestions here. This thread will also be used for contest announcements and the like.
Rules:
1. Stories must be posted in the submission thread by midnight of that round’s due date—no extentions.
2. All stories must be open for critique and discussion in the discussion thread.
3. Stories must be 500 to 3000 words.
4. Stories must demonstrate the theme in a discernable way.
5. Stories must utilize the setting and characters of any RP in which the entrant is currently involved.
6. Trolling, flaming, arguing, etc are likely to get you disqualified. So don’t do it.
7. All stories must stay within Gaia’s TOS.
8. Contest will be hosted by Druid Saga. The guild is public, thus, everyone is able to post in its forums. Thank you Aero, for letting us use your guild for this!
9. Each round will have THREE weeks to complete.
10. No crossovers allowed--just to make it fair to those who are only in one guild. =)

ROUND UNO! Theme: Through the Looking GlassAn exploration of opposites, of mirrors, strange worlds behind reflective surfaces. This theme is about going through the looking glass (literally or figuratively) and what one might find there. Start date: As of now. End Date: February 7th, 12:00 am PSTYou may feel free to ask questions in the Round One Discussion Thread. I will not approve/disapprove specific ideas (IE--don't ask me if your idea fits the theme) but I will answer generic questions about the theme. =) When you story is finished, please post it in the following thread: THIS ONE

I wanted to ask... Would we have to use the same settings in later rounds? Say, for example, round one I use Wings, would I have to use Wings in successive rounds.

Of course not. You can choose a different setting for each round. The only rule is that you have to actually be IN an RP to use its setting. Otherwise, you can use whatever setting works best for a given theme.

ROUND TWO!
Love Potion #9
Well, we're a bit late for Valentines *coughextensioncough* BUT this round is focusing on love, romance...and sneaky love potions if you guys want to take a literal approach to things.
Any pairings (or lack of pairings) are open up to you guys, no matter how crazy (or emo).
Start date: 3-3-11
End date: 3-24-11 Midnight PST
Discussion thread and submission threads will be up soon. =3
I am debating whether or not this round is open to everyone or just the three contestants of the first round. Anyone jumping in this round would be starting from zero so it would likely be difficult (but not necessarily impossible) for you to catch up during the next two rounds. Everyone, please answer the poll about this.

I answered the poll but I want to make a suggestion. I think it's fine to have it open for new entrants, who are new to the guild. However, if the person entering is an older member of one of the guilds, then I think there needs to be some sort of small penalty. After all, last round we had a large extension so people could get their entries in on time. And only three of us did.
So, yeah, new member fine, older member maybe needs a penalty.
