Oh, yeah. About that whole Juno saying that item perspective was a calculated sacrifice...yep, I distinctly remember that. I remember mentioning the Sugarplum Tiaras at the time, ha. I found the post.

This reply deals specifically with certain issues that probably do not apply as much today or to the specific cases mentioned here, but at the core of it is the idea that it takes "too much time".
I don't really know what to make of that. I do know, however, that I prefer quality, by far.

While I do try to take into account the slightly offset angle the Gaia avatars are placed, it actually takes a considerable amount of extra time to render certain items (particularly ones that are either symmetrical, or detailed) in that specific angle. I know that sounds somewhat cheap, but it's all about allocating resources properly, and making decisions on which projects/subjects prioritize others... and honestly, I think that this issue is trivial in comparison to, say, unisexing the older items, or fixing glitches.
At the end of the day, I would rather that my team produce 100 items with slightly offset angles, rather than 50 items less, due to the time it would take for us to go back and make those items at that angle. For simpler items, like the Fairy Wings, sure! We will definitely pay attention to those.
It's not that we want to annoy you guys with something like this, but I have to be realistic, and make realistic decisions with the resources I have - and sometimes, sacrifices must be made. This applies everywhere: I'd love to make 20 different color variations of each item, or have hundreds of hair colors you could choose from... but things like that aren't realistic at this time. So the ultimate question is: would you rather than I spend an additional 30% of my time making all items perfectly aligned in the future? Or would you rather that I allocate that 30% fixing glitches, or making more store items, or better event items? I'd like to believe that most would choose quantity and glitch-free, but who knows, I may be wrong.
In any case, once we get more manpower, that will allow us to take more time creating items.
Understand though, that even now, projects like the unisexing project are extremely slow-moving because of time/resource constraints, and requesting perfectly angled items is going to slow everything else down - just something to think about, since I think about it everyday. biggrin
