I... don't really like the dice rolling thing.
Giving away prizes is nice, but what's going on doesn't really help the thread and charity much.
Entire pages of nothing being said doesn't really make the thread an interesting place to hang out in.
I should probably go check out some other charities to study up on what goes on each day. How much people interact and such, in comparison to this one.
I might be totally off base here, but I just wanted to share how I feel about it.

Mr Spooty I... don't really like the dice rolling thing. And I really do appreciate your feedback! I haven't had a dice game in a REALLY long time (well...at least not an active one where multiple people actually participate)
Honestly, I don't care for them a whole lot either, for a couple of different reasons:
1.) It's just a way to keep the charity page bumped...in an attempt to gain a few new members (which this seemed to accomplish), but many of those folks tend to just bump, get their prize, and go. We'll see how this one works out.
2.) It's a LOT to keep up with...looking through all the pages, and I always fear missing something "important"
3.) In general, dice games seem to encourage just bumping instead of conversations. BUT, this last one did seem to spawn some conversations, so that at least was nice to see.
I struggle with fun events to do in the thread and trying to come up with something new. I feel like I don't want the "same old, same old" but when I try new things we have just a few participants it seems.
It all comes down to having a decent balance I think. And it takes active participation for many of them to work. My charity is a bit different though too. Honestly, if we didn't have ANY games, I think we'd still be pretty successful because the folks that frequent our thread are really generous and I feel like they'd give on a monthly basis no matter what. I just like to "give back" a bit when/where I can, and in creative ways.
Dice games aren't particularly creative, but can be if done well. I haven't had time to really do much of anything recently, so I threw out a "tried and true" easy dice game to hold interest for members while I knew I'd be busy and away for extended periods of time.
Seriously...I DO appreciate any and all feedback! And wholeheartedly welcome suggestion for improvement or other games/things you'd like to see done better/differently! heart
