Okay... I have an idea for a guild, but I'm not sure if it's good enough... anyways, please help me with this decision. Here's a quick summary...

Quote:
Alana Richards is a decendant of Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X) and has some abilities similar to his before. She learned at an early age she had the ability to read minds, and kept it a secret throughout her whole life. That's not the end of her mutation though. Alana can force images into someone's head and make it seem real; make a mirage of a reality. She can also go into people's minds, and "talk" with them, or go through memories; forgotten or recent.

Gabriel Linne is also a mutant, can control any sort of electronic technology. He can also figure out its components, for example, Gabe can find out what and how a Playstation is made, and what it's made of. Gabe is also a technician, and can easily hide is powers like Alana.

The two meet in college, and Alana finds out Gabe's a mutant like her. She researches, and finds out she was realted to Charles Xavier, and wants to keep his legacy going on. Alana asks Gabe to help her start another "institution" with her. Gabe finds where the Cerebro is being stored, and quickly breaks in and finds out how to make one for Alana to use like Charles did to find other mutants and take them in for safety and learning purposes.

Thus, the duo make another school safe for mutants to attend, but there's always the "bad guy". Alana's old companion from high school, Rodrick Jameson, thinks otherwise. He believes that the humans should learn a lesson from the mutants, and plans to kill the whole human race.

Rodrick's powers consist of manipulating electricity, and is very powerful with this. The smallest source of static electricity can be Rick's killing mechanism. Rick cannot create electricity, but he can control it.

Rick counts on creating a Resistance against the anti-mutant movement, and Alana and Gabe count on stopping him...

Is it good?

It should be noted. That Magneto and Charles developed Cerebro. But yes, it is a good Role-play. How good the guild will be. Has more to do with the amount of effort you put into it. Than the Role-play itself.

What type of guild are you planning to make it into? Guilds with less Role-play restrictions. Tend to bring in more users. Though, it will usually detract from the number of higher skilled ones. The reverse is true with a guild with more strict restrictions. This will bring in more higher skilled Role-players. Though, it will scare some away.

Over 90% of the Role-players I've seen on Gaiaonline. Are of the Casual, Semi-literate to Literate rank. Regardless of there claims of being Advanced Lit or greater.

You should decide if you are going to moderate the entire guild. Or, allow each individual thread creator. To moderate there own threads. I've seen the ladder before and it has its pros and cons. On one hand. In most cases the Role-play will run smoothly if left unmoderated.

You will unfortunately have those few people. Who are of the "Helper" classification. These people are easily spotted if you know what to look for. They will regularly try to give others in the Role-play advise. Yet, there tone will be somewhat or entirely insulting. These "helpers" will also have a large BlackList for there Role-play after a few months. No one that is considerate of others in the Role-play. Will have a Black-list with more than maybe a few people. Though, most Blacklists stay completely clean. For years in some cases.

I'm planning it to be a semi-literate Role play guild... although I'm not understanding what you are saying when you say guilds with less role-play restrictions... but i mostly see what you are saying...

I've seen sight wide restrictions. On all Role-plays on the website. In this case, it would be in your guild. These can be as mild as no text talk. Or, as extreme as character sheets in X format in X forum. So many paragraphs mandatory per post etc. You can also allow the creators of each individual Role-play. To decide what the rules are for there own Role-play. Or, you could have some guild wide rules for Role-plays. With the creator of each individual Role-play. Being allowed to add additional rules to there own Role-play at there discretion.
