Bodytype: Abhain has always been on the heavier side of her weight range, and the first word that comes to mind when describing her figure would be curvy. She is one of those girls who, while being slightly heavyset, has curves in all the right places and know how to dress them up. Her skin is pale and lightly freckled over her cheeks, and burns extremely easily if she's out in direct sunlight for too long.
Hair: Abhain's hair is a dark ashen blond - bordering on a light brown - and falls to just above her shoulders. It is worn with no bangs, and is lightly layered. For the most part, she wears it down, although it often winds up tucked behind one ear during the course of the day.
Eyes: Blue-gray and almond-shaped.
Fashion: Easily the most stunning part of Abhain's appearance is her choice in wardrobe. First and foremost to note is the fact that she is never seen without narrow black-framed glasses - her eyesight is notoriously terrible without them, and contacts never quite worked out with her. She has a tendency to lean towards snug-fitting off the shoulder tops, which always go well with one of her favorite garments - a black overbust corset with a halter neckline. This combination is typically worn with a dark pair of jeans, and knee-high black laced boots. Color-wise, Abhain favors deep, cool colors and often leans towards dark blues and purples accented with black. Accessory-wise, she is never seen without some kind of black choker (although whether the one she decides to wear is made from ribbon or leather depends on the outfit) or her pentacle which is worn on a simple silver chain. In addition to this, depending on sleeve length, she sometimes accessorizes with gloves, rings, bracelets and the like, but she's careful not to wear too much at once. It is worth nothing that she doesn't have her ears pierced, and thus does not wear earrings. Makeup is used sparingly and the most she wears on a day-to-day basis is a little bit of eyeliner, mascara, and a colorless lip gloss.
Demeanor: While she likes to think she doesn't have a problem with people, Abhain is far more introverted than she'd like to admit. She doesn't do well in crowds, and overexposure to lots of people in close quarters can lead to her withdrawing into herself. While she can pull out of this fairly easily once she's on her own again, extensive and repeated periods in crowds can lead to her functionally shutting down as a social entity. A few days in such an environment wouldn't lead to this - it would take months before any lasting effect would be noticed.
Personality Traits: [+] Who Cares If You're Different - Abhain is exceptionally tolerant, and is always quick to ignore a person's abnormalities. She understands every person is different, and even if she doesn't like those differences she'll always respect the person's right to be that way. In fact, on a small scale, she is drawn to those who aren't like everyone else. She thrives with those who are unique and unusual, and always seems to smile a little wider and laugh a little harder around them. On some level, it's because she feels different herself, and knowing that she isn't the only one makes her far more at ease being who she is on her deepest level.
[+] Through Thick And Thin - While a casual friendship is easy to strike up with Abhain, those who get to know her on a deeper level will find in her a friend they can always count on. She'll always come to the aid of those who she considers part of her inner circle, and whenever her friends need it she'll be the shoulder they lean on. And as awkward as she can be around people in emotional distress, she'll do her best to be there for her friends. Even when she's feeling at her worst, you'll always find a warm smile and a comforting hug when you turn to Abhain.
[+] Walking Encyclopedia Is A Compliment - Intelligence is an easy thing to come by in Abhain, and you'd be hard pressed to find something she doesn't remember reading or hearing somewhere. For the most part, she does a very good job of keeping this under control. Facts are only mentioned when pertinent to the situation at hand, and they are done so in a way that adds to the situation rather than making her seem like a know-it-all... Not that it doesn't happen sometimes. After all, she's always been quick to pick up new concepts, and retaining facts is as natural to her as swimming is to fish.
[+] At Least Things Can't Possibly Get Any Worse - Looking for the mythical silver lining is something Abhain is always willing to put effort into, even in the worst of situations. She'll try her hardest not to fall to hopelessness, but that certainly doesn't mean she doesn't have moments where she struggles to find something good to say. The important thing is that she genuinely tries, even if it's offering something as lame as "at least it isn't raining." This can cause her to inadvertently make light of some very serious situations, something she's willing to apologize for, but don't expect her to feel sorry for trying to find a bright spot in a very dark place.
[-] What Do You Mean He's Angry - If there's one thing Abhain is absolutely horrendous at, it's reading people. Oh, she can get the basics pretty well. She can tell when someone is happy or sad, but if you ask her anything beyond that she's incapable of giving a straight answer. She has a hard time telling when she offends someone, and for this reason she's not the person you'd want to call on to solve problems diplomatically. The intricacies of social situations tend to elude her a bit more than most, but hopefully some of that has to do with the fact she's still young. (No guarantees though, as she's had plenty of time to grow out of it.)
[-] If You Think So, I Think So Too - While fully capable of thinking for herself, more often than not Abhain allows the opinions of those she cares about to influence hers without even realizing it. If her best friend says someone is bad news then she obviously shouldn't get involved with them, and if her dog seems to think her new friend is the best thing ever then there's no way she can be wrong. Her opinions are easily swayed by those closest to her, and it seems there are very few things she stands firm on her own opinion on. This has nothing to do with her being unable to form an opinion on her own, and everything to do with the fact she trusts the opinions of those she loves higher than she trusts her own. This can get her into a lot of trouble - especially when two friends are saying two completely different things.
[-] Can't We All Just Get Along - More than anything in the world Abhain despises conflict, and she will do just about anything she possibly can to avoid it. If this means going along with a class assignment that others would find unfair or unreasonable, so be it. She'd rather just shut her mouth and fight through whatever is thrown her way than to speak up and risk causing a disagreement of any kind. One could even go so far as to say she has a fear of conflict, but she'd never dare to admit to this.
[-] I Just Can't Make Up My Mind - If there's one thing Abhain has the most trouble with, it would have to be making decisions. With so many options and the ability to see the bright side of every one, she has a hard time making up her mind. While she's generally good with the small stuff, like what type of juice she wants today or whether or not she wants to buy that top, the bigger stuff is a battle for her. She'd hate to make a decision and then regret it later, but often waits so long to make one that she ends up deciding on impulse and inevitably does regret it in the end.
Hobbies: Video Games - Abhain has always been a huge lover of video games, and has a handful of favorite series that will never grow old for her. She's been a fan of the Pokémon games ever since she first managed to get her hands on one, and always gets the new releases. She also enjoys pretty much anything produced by Square Enix, and plays World of Warcraft as well. She plays action and adventure games with a roleplaying aspect almost exclusively, and can be notoriously picky about the ones she does play. If a plot doesn't interest her in the first ten minutes, chances are she'll put it down and never play it again.
Creative Pursuits - Abhain has always had a creative streak, and she writes and draws nearly constantly when she has idle hands and paper in front of her. It isn't uncommon for her to be doing either in her classes, and she's surprisingly good at it! She certainly has a way with words, and her drawings definitely aren't bad. She's had quite a few friends comment that she should have gone into the arts, but she is always quick to let them know that she didn't want an enjoyable hobby spoiled by being required to do it to get by.
Reading - Well all else fails to keep her entertained, Abhain is likely to have her nose tucked into a book. She is an avid reader, and frequents Celeste's library often enough that she knows all its workers by name and they in return. Her favorite genre to read is by far Fantasy - if there's magic and dragons she'll have her hands on it within a month, if not sooner. She is known to read other things, particularly anything regarding Wicca or Egypt's ancient pantheon.
Roleplaying - This is a huge aspect of Abhain's life and has seen her through many a dark patch. When all else fails to pull her out of a bad mood, nothing can rectify it quicker than throwing herself into the mindset of a character and playing out virtually any scenario with a friend she met online. She has a fair deal of people on her buddy list that she knows strictly through online RPGs, and would even go so far as to say some of those people are among her longest standing friends. This is a quick and easy way to bond with her; she loves talking about her characters and listening to someone else talk about theirs.

Abhain's estranged father, who is an American mutt. He was abusive to the family, and her mother divorced him and obtained sole custody of Abhain and her brother when she was three. She hasn't heard of him since except for when his child support checks abruptly stopped when she was thirteen. The family found out two months later that he'd died of natural causes.
Mother: Jillian Yurcina
Abhain's 60-year-old mother who is of mixed European decent, with strong Irish and Czech bloodlines. Her relationship with Jill constantly fluctuates between two extremes - they are either best friends or nearly at each other's throats. More often than not, they lean towards best friends, although their relationship has been rather strained lately due to some life choices Abhain made her mother aware of shortly before she moved out. That isn't to say the two hate each other, but there is an underlying tension between them that will take time to heal. Siblings:
Younger Brother: Alex Levitt
Abhain's 20-year-old brother, who is pretty much the entire reason she finally left home. Their relationship has always been more than just typical sibling rivalry, and was characterized by an overwhelming feeling of contempt for one another. In recent years it's only gotten worse, and Abhain is no longer on speaking terms with her brother. She likes to pretend he doesn't exist. Other:
Dog: Whisper
A ten-year-old Husky mix adopted by Abhain not long after she turned thirteen. The two of them have been practically glued at the hip ever since, and it's entirely normal to see Whisper laying at her owner's feet during her off hours. While she's slowed down a lot in the last couple years, she's still the same dog Abhain rescued from the pound nearly nine years ago. Her "birthday" is celebrated in mid-August, and normally involves plenty of spoiling on her owner's part. Job: Jillian teaches Home Economics at Celeste High School. She also has a Masters in Special Education, and works as an advocate for any students with learning disabilities who might need special accommodations to get through school. Something she is uniquely qualified for, given she has first hand experience from when Abhain was still trying to get through school. As far as Abhain is aware, Alex is unemployed.
Home: Abhain lives in a two bedroom ranch-style house with a fenced in yard situated near Lake Meringue. It is decorated rather sparsely, and the second bedroom doubles as both office space and a guest bedroom. It looks well lived in, and it isn't uncommon to see books or dog toys scattered about through various rooms in the house. Abhain's bedroom is minimalistic at best, with midnight blue walls and dark colored furniture. The yard is kept neat and tidy, and has a simple hammock set up towards the back beneath an old tree where Abhain often reads on warm days.
Family Life: For the most part, Abhain's home lie is relatively uneventful. Mornings are the most hectic - between getting ready for her classes and making sure Whisper has everything she needs before heading out for the day. Evenings after work are normally spent either surfing the web or doing homework, along with spoiling Whisper rotten with affection and playing with her. Abhain's most active days are the ones she has off work - she'll normally spend as much as half her day exercising with Whisper, whether it involves more play or going on long walks with her.

-Effect: Affects one enemy. The site of the "sting" is affected with moderate pain and muscle cramps. Used to break an enemy's focus.
-Weakness: Only works on one enemy at a time. Does no actual damage. More experienced enemies might be able to ignore effects entirely.

The summoned barracuda lunges towards the targeted enemy, biting down on the nearest extremity and thrashing. It dissipates after five seconds of thrashing or after it misses the target.
-Effect: Targets one enemy. The targeted enemy takes damage when the attack makes contact.
-Weakness: Only one enemy can be targeted. The attack can be easily dodged.
-Origin: A hunting barracuda. Eternal Senshi Attack: Great White's Charge
-Purpose: Offensive; Heavy Damage
-Duration: Immediate; Requires one turn to cast.

-Visual: Pisces draws her symbol in the air, where it remains glowing for thirty seconds. During this time she draws her hands back, clasping them in front of her throat and concentrating. The symbol pulses when she's ready to attack and she thrusts her hand into it, palm facing towards her target. The symbol bends and warps into the shape of an ethereal shark which charges the targeted enemy, biting down on whatever it can and thrashing viciously. Because of its size, there is a high chance its thrashing could hit nearby enemies in addition to the target. The shark dissipates after ten seconds.
-Effect: Targets one enemy. The targeted enemy takes the heaviest damage from the attack with other enemies in the immediate vicinity taking moderate damage.
-Weakness: Pisces cannot move while casting. Interrupted casts still count as a use.

Information/FAQWhat is Abhain's Major?: Undecided. Abhain has always had a bad habit of putting off making decisions, and her college choices are no different! After graduating high school, she took a year off to relax and just enjoy life for a while before heading off to college. At this point, she's still flip-flopping a lot on her Major, but she is heavily considering going into massage therapy.
What's with the strange name?: Abhain Hanley is not her birth name. She had her name legally changed after graduating high school, and as a general rule the only people who know about this are her family and old high school acquaintances. She doesn't talk about it at all, and you might even go so far to say she despises her birth name.
Why would she despise her birth name so much?: To Abhain, it was nothing but a reminder of her abusive father. Even though she doesn't remember much about him, she does have memories from before he left. She will openly admit to hating her father, and wanted to distance herself from him as much as possible. In the end, this resulted in her changing her birth name and taking on the maiden name of her maternal grandmother.
Alright, but what about her family's names?: I can see how her family's surnames could be a bit confusing, so I'll try to clear that up here. Adam and Jillian were legally married, and both Abhain and Alex were born with the surname Levitt. Following the divorce, Jillian had her surname changed back to her maiden name (Yurcina) but chose to give her children the choice to either keep their father's name or choose another name when they were old enough. Alex chose to stay with his father's name; Abhain chose to change hers.
Why is Abhain's relationship with her mother strained?: Abhain's mother is a devout Christian, and upon leaving for college Abhain openly admitted to her mother that she has been Wiccan since she was in the 11th grade. Her mother does not approve of this choice, and it has put a lot of tension on her relationship with her daughter. The two of them still love each other, but it will take time for them to work through this.
Why does she dislike her brother so much?: Simply put, Alex has always taken more after his father than his mother. While this wasn't as obvious when he was younger, in recent years it has become more apparent in the way he interacts with his family. When things don't go his way he becomes verbally abusive, and will eventually bully his family into yielding to him. Abhain cut all ties with him the moment she realized he would likely turn out exactly like their father.
It sure does seem like Abhain's had a lot of drama with her family...: Maybe so, but most of this drama is in the past. It has helped shape Abhain into the person she is today, but it has absolutely no place in her life as of this moment. I'm not trying to make her into a tragic character. She is who she is, and the experiences she's gone through aren't as uncommon as they should be. Strained relationships between family members and abusive personalities are things that happen; what makes the character is how they deal with it. Abhain chose to escape from it entirely, and she leaves it in the past where it belongs.
Wait, what's this about Abhain and her mother advocating for her through school?: Abhain has had schooling difficulties ever since she was young. She was diagnosed with ADHD long before she reached Kindergarten age, although the symptoms of that have gotten less and less obtrusive over the years. The big diagnosis came when she was thirteen - Asperger Syndrome. It accounted for many of her difficulties in schooling, including her distinct lack of social skills, her social anxiety, and her bits of OCD that made completing certain assignments nigh impossible. While she has worked over the years to manage her symptoms and get to a point where she is self-sufficient and can get through school without major difficulties, it has been a long road to get there with a ways to go still regarding some social skills like reading people.
How does a college student afford a house with a fenced in yard?: Easy - royalties. One of the things Abhain did during her year off from school was write a novel. She even managed to get it published, and receives royalties from its sales. While it isn't a huge hit, it is popular enough to pick up some of the slack when tips aren't good at her waitressing job and help support Abhain through school.
What kind of novel was it?: It was a modern fantasy by the name Secrets Of The Seraphim. It followed the journey of a young woman by the name of Uriel as she was taken from her small town and thrust into the midst of a conflict between a hidden race of not-quite-angels and their ancient enemy. Through her journey she falls in love with a native anti-hero caught between two of the race's factions, earns the life-long companionship of a young dragon, and learns she's the illegitimate daughter of the big bad.
