Hey, here's where you can share with other guild members what you're watching or reading. heres an example "Woot just got 5 new comics. ok not that new, they are about as vintage as i am. they are "The Adventures of Superman #500", and the reign of the Supermen origin stories. All from the year 1993." and i havent seen this yet, no one has, but this is the first "real" poster for the up and coming film "The Avengers" (i know its blurry, but it still looks pretty decent)

The only thing I've been reading lately is Batgirl. Stephanie Brown as the latest Batgirl really works and I'd love nothing more than to see more of her.

I'd have to say Green Lantern. Granted Hal Jordan isn't my favorite Green Lantern and I hate Ryan Reynolds with a fiery passion and wish he would stop doing comic book movies but It looks more interesting.

Captain America wasn't all that great, I must admit, but Tony Stark was the greatest geek ever plus the Red Skull was an epic villain. Much love for that octopus belt. <3

I just saw that yesterday! (cheap seats <3) It was pretty damn good, but of course not the best of 'em. Then again they are best as a whole. It makes me wonder if they are going to start doing movies on all the original main characters. That would be interesting. The marvel movies have got me thinking though, and maybe you could answer this for me, whether they are based on Norse mythology only or if other mythologies are used and I just don't see them.

Well yes and no, Marvel's mythologies for Norse, Greek and Egyptian are well a mix of the real fiction and their own. There are certain traits added to the characters that make them less myth and more comic worthy

I loved all the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. Captain America was frikkin' awesome! All the nods to the classic comics and easter eggs laid throughout were so well placed. Chris Evans thankfully was not Johnny Storm in Cap's costume. He came off perfectly as the Steve Rogers fans have been asking for since the 60s and thank God he wasn't a pansy who ran away from the first sight of a fight like the 90s Captain America and had a real shield unlike the 70s version. Of course Hugo Weaving once again plays the perfect villain with Red Skull. That guy genuinely creeped the Hell out of me but was such a badass! Even all of the supporting cast was amazing like Hayley Atwell, Tommy Lee Jones and Domonic Cooper. Plus it was nice to see the full payoff of the Stark Expo from Iron Man 2.
On the flipside I have to say that, while I loved it, Thor was the weakest to me. The 3D effects were awful and I would've liked some more scenes with Thor and Sif. Hopefully now with all of the origin stories out of the way we can get some over-the-top, mind blowing action in The Avengers.
Also as a sidenote; She-Hulk has been listed by Marvel Studios to get a feature film. I'd love to see that!

I have to agree with Raiden, Thor could have been better and while i noticed many similaritied to mythology and to main stream Marvel, there wasn't enough of a Marvel comics storyline to it. Of course everyone knew who it was supposed to be but, it wasnt the same. And who else was bummed out that his helmet was gone?

Of course everyone knew who it was supposed to be but, it wasnt the same. And who else was bummed out that his helmet was gone? And I have to agree with you. The story was just kind of "blah" to me. I know it had to have Loki as the villain to setup The Avengers but couldn't they have done a better job at making the story a little less predictable? I mean Loki could have been dealt with easily if not for Odin suddenly going into the Odinsleep out of nowhere (seriously, they don't warn people at all of it). and doing something bigger would have been a lot better like showing Thanos briefly to possibly setup Thor 2. Sorry but I can't say the helmet thing bothered me that much. I actually felt he looked better without it. So Maria Hill is going to be in The Avengers as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent but not Jessica Drew or Carol Danvers who have been around three times as long as Hill. WTF, Marvel?
