Winter Hue Hey everyone, I have returned from a land of extreme crowds, rude people, and obnoxious odors. Long story short... I attended A-Kon this year for the first time and attended 1 of the 3 GaiaOnline panels. We attending Gaians were graced by the ever charming DJ Hellsing who filled us in on several new features that will grace the site in the upcoming months. I do have pictures, but they are incredibly fuzzy and my camera decided to die on me... but I shall be posting a few of them soon. In the meantime, here is a list of the new features that were revealed to me and all who attended the panel... but please beware, I am very tired so this topic will be FULL of typos and grammatical errors. - Friend Chat (forgot about this one) [New areas will be added soon. Cake area, Manor area, and Forest area that looks suspiciously like the woods from the Twilight movies.] - Frontier Skies 2.0 The newly updated and crisp version of Frontier Skies will give users tickets upon completion of the game that will be used to trade for "rare" and new items. - Summer Event This event will include two intertwined events. One event revolves around Rina. In the picture that DJ Hellsing showed at the panel... which occurred right after my camera died featured a picture of Rina with parts of her outfit censored. DJ Hellsing accredited the censor bars to the artist's desire to not spoil the items and hints that her outfit revealed. Also, it was "accidentally" revealed that the 2nd part of the Summer Event would include a grand fight between an obnoxiously large amount of NPCs. Users would pick one NPC to help along their path and win something at the end if their NPC reached their goal. Nothing else pertaining to the Summer Event was revealed... except that it should arrive at the end of June or the beginning of July. - Bid Blast (MAJOR GOLD SINK)  The brand spanking new feature is nothing but a giant gold sink. Although the description of this new feature... was somewhat vague, I shall give it a shot. So apparently old items (mainly cash shop items) shall be placed in the Bid Blast and users could possibly obtain these items for next to nothing. The example that DJ Hellsing used was a Chyaku Norrisu Scarf for 10k. Here is the process that the user will have to go through in order to use this feature.
- Buy "BID tickets" with gold. (gold amount per ticket was not discussed)
- The user would bid a certain amount of tickets for the item.
- IF the user is outbidded... then they shall PERMANENTLY lose the tickets they had put in.
- IF that happens, the user will have to buy more tickets to try and obtain this item.
*I have a picture of this feature. I shall post it in a little bit. (after I unpack) - Outfit Marketplace (near completion)  This is all I know about this feature... which was shortly discussed by DJ Hellsing.
- Users will be able to use their items (items they buy from the cash shop, exchange, or marketplace to create outfits and sell everything in bulk as a whole.
- According to DJ Hellsing, this is a feature that many of the users have been requesting for years.
- No discussion of possible inflation was had... but it is pretty obvious what the effects shall be.
- Monster Galaxy (upcoming Moga) Basically another round of new Moga are on their way along with the ability to change the look of your home. DJ Hellsing did explain why Monster Galaxy was first introduced on Facebook. He told us very bluntly. It was either we wait for 6-13 months for that game to be introduced to Gaia first or go the Facebook route. He also clearly stated that it is very easy to make a Facebook account that you can log into ONCE so you can play Monster Galaxy. Mules accounts on Facebook are A OK. - zOMG No new features were discussed for zOMG. Although many questions were asked in the Q&A session, they were of the "why can't you sell rings" variety. - Evolving Items *I asked these questions myself Originally I asked simply if "regular" Evolving Items were being replaced by Rapid Evolving Items. DJ Hellsing explained that although "regular" Evolving Items are not being phased out, REIs are becoming very popular and profitable. Also he stated that the pricing for all EIs are decided by the group in charge of EIs and the price is determined by the number of poses and the quality. Also, a question considering the price of the Zodiacal was discussed but it led back to the answer DJ Hellsing gave me. So there you go. I was unable to attend the Variety Hour as well as the Feedback panel on Sunday due to hotel checkout and obnoxious parking issues, but I am quite happy that I attended. I won a prize for my stupid Death Note wallet and watched oodles of silly contests. Discuss: Whatever you want to discuss about this information~

I thought Gaia was supposed to be combating inflation, not helping it along. Tch.
Yeah I want the underground area to be completed already, want to check it out. >S Hope they make it for level 10s. And not the noobs in bill's ranch.

Yeah, although to be fair, it's pretty easy to get lots of gold by buying and reselling cash shop items (especially if you wait until the item is out of the cash shop before reselling it)...I did that for a while until I figured out that there was nothing I really wanted to get...so now after keeping some gold stashed away for a rainy day (AKA, a day when an item I actually want comes out) , I try to help my friends' quests with any new gold I earn...because it's just dull to keep earning gold for myself when there is nothing I want. Inflation is pretty bad for some of the older items though. There is going to be an underground area in zOMG? I hope they finish it soon then...or, ever...

As for zomg, yes. They're putting it over in the area where you find bill's cow. Remember the door under the mountain it stands by? It's gonna be in there.
Its gonna have some of the wolves and other monsters from that one halloween event in it.

more on it Yeah, inflation is going to skyrocket once the bidding thing is up...It's too bad that the Gaia staff would allow something this bad for the Gaian economy to be made. I will, though if it's like the last few gold sink events, I won't find any of the prizes appealing enough to get. sweatdrop Ah, that sounds fun! I wish they would hurry up and finish it, but with so few zOMG staff, I guess it could take a while.

So far it looks kinda okay, what I did was feed 3 npc's with a 500 pie, so that i get something from the event and blah. if they win and such.
