A few weeks I got a 38g tank (was told it was 40-45) with a stand, hood and a bunch of filters on CL for $50. The hood turned out to be gutted but that ok because at least it'll keep the water from evaporating so quickly and I just put a light and a clamp lamp on top until I can get a new strip light for it. Anyway, I moved all of my fish into and now that they're in the light/an area where we can see them they have really perked up.
I've been searching high and low for driftwood. So far my best option seem to be PetCo. They sell teeny tiny pieces for $6 and medium pieces for $11. I might get 2 medium pieces if I can't find anything cheaper. Pet Supermarket sells tiny ones for $15.99. Seriously?? Lol.
Today I bought 4 more red eyed tetras to go with the 3 I already had. They're really happy to have some more friends and I'm hoping now that there's a few more females my males will stop fighting. They've been tearing each other apart. I might go back and get 3 more to make it an even 10. I also found BN plecos at petco, since I am now in search of a new female. But they sell them at 1.5" and they will not take trade ins if I buy one, grow it out and then want to return it because it's a male, so that will be a last resort. I still haven't been to the only "fish store" here, so hopefully they'll have what I'm looking for.

A pretty good way to sex young BN's is to look at their heads. Females tend to have wider skulls. Not 100% acurate, but it could help if thats the way you have to go.
Check out a Land scaping company near you (that keeps their wood indoors). You could probly get a good sized one for cheaper then the pet stores have them.

If you get driftwood at a pet-store do you still have to bake it or sterilize it? I wouldn't think so, but I've never played with it in my tanks before. Isa just wondering is all.... ^_^

@Akari: I will try that, do you think they might have the right type of wood?
@Hisaki: Last time I got a piece of driftwood, it was all shrink wrapped and whatnot. I did not bake it or sterilize it. xD my water turned brown it was great. Insta-blackwater biotope, lol.

You can always just go to check out what types they have then go home and look them up.

I figured it's best being safe than just assuming and having a bad reaction with it. TY...^_^

Or I could call them. The nearest hardware store is about 3 miles away and I'll have to bike there. In this heat, not fun to come home empty handed, lol.

Some pet stores do keep their driftwood in tanks. If that's the case where you buy yours, then you would want to sterilize it first.
