Hello. I recently bought a new 20 gallon tank and while I was there the woman at the store asked if I wanted to buy some Nutrafin Cycle, she said it starts the cycling and finishes within 3 day and I can put fish in on the third day. So I've been following instructions on the bottle and its the second day now. I plan on doing it again tomorrow and then plopping my betta in. Does anyone have any experience with this product and know if it works right?

That product does not work. The bacteria in it are not what the tank needs, and they die in a few days.
The only cycling producct that I have ever heard of working is Terta SafeStart. I would use that. Let the Cycle stuff die off, and do a large water change, then add the TSS and put the fish in and follow the directions on the bottle.

I would always test the water before you add a fish. There are many "instant cycle" products, and they can be helpful to jump start the cycling process by introducing the necessary bacteria (seeding), but it's not really a good idea to rely on those alone. Did you get a test kit or test strips? The test kits are more expensive, but they are also more accurate. If you're in a pinch for cash the strips work well enough. Get the 5 in one or 6 in one strips.
