Alright this is intended to become a discussion. Hopefully opinions shouldn't be looked down upon but be open minded in case you do find yourself wrong. This is often a very sensitive topic as it involves giving your entire life over and it encompasses everything, not just praise and worship. For all Christians and those who are not but have love for God, what is your Christian world view and how is God incorporated in your life? Should religion be a seperate thing from your job and kept to home and church life or should it be used in work, school, social, and all other areas?
I believe that God gave us every job we have and all work is His work, our world could not run and continue to survive without all those people who do his work outside of the church. As such, He should be our center for all that we do in everything. Not all workplaces are full of Christian and God loving people, a lot are full of the misguided. We should do everything in His name and try to influence that into our work and school.
Please post your opinion, I would love to talk with all of you on this topic as it is a very important one in our lives.

So I say Amen to what your saying. I do not keep my light hid under a bushel whether its at work, or in my social circles. I do talk about the Lord in my outside of church life, and wait upon the Holy Spirit to open up the doors for me to get into full conversations about God and what He has done for me in my life and in the lives of family and others I know that have had the Lord bless them in some way. "What is your Christian world view and how is God incorporated in your life?"
-I believe that God is our divine Father and King. He gave us the Bible as guidance just like a parent has rules on how to live under their roof. God is also super smart and there's a reason why he has his rules and we should do our best to follow them, even if we don't fully understand why He made those rules. Also, since our Heavenly Father is also a King, that means we are all Royalty and should do our very best to set an example for others to follow- so we really do have to hold ourselves to a very high standard.
"Should religion be a seperate thing from your job and kept to home and church life or should it be used in work, school, social, and all other areas?"
-I work in a Catholic school so I love the fact that I can say "I'll pray for you" when someone is having a rough time. In fact, I would feel a little weird if I couldn't say those things. Christian spirituality is so ingrained into my character because I grew up in a Catholic community that I would just feel lost if I couldn't express my faith in some form or another.

I agree with you in that aspect but in my life when someone says "Pray for me" about this, that, or the other. I take the time out right then and there to pray with them on the spot. Not to embaress them or to make a public showing of faith. But I believe simply that if someone is sincere enough to say "Pray for me", Then it should be done then and there, while the problem is at hand and fresh on both of our hearts atm, and time. To some degree, it would be inappropriate for me to actively wear my political and religious opinions on my sleeve at work--although they probably slip into view more often than they should.
But in a greater sense... IMHO I should strive to keep the core of my faith present in all I do, every decision I make. That doesn't mean shoving it in people's faces, or even mentioning it necessarily. And that certainly doesn't mean I will perfectly achieve that, none of us do.
But... the ongoing struggle to choose grace over sin--to choose to close rather than widen the separation both between myself and god and between myself and others--when I am acting on that impulse, I am improving the world around me, I am improving my own relationship with Christ and I am living a testament that becomes all the more powerful for coming up naturally in conversation.
Does that make sense, or have I begun to babble? smile

The Hudson Hawk I take the time out right then and there to pray with them on the spot. The Hawk That's a great idea! I'm going to try that because sometimes I know when I say my prayers at night I might forget who and what I'm supposed to pray for. Plus I'm sure people really appreciate it when you pray with them right then and there. I know I would. 3nodding

I completely agree, separation between religion and our work and other places only separates us from God. However I don't believe in pushing religion on people. All you can really do is wait for the opportunity to ask them what their religious preference is or let them tell you. Then after that just tell them what you believe, but clearly state that they can believe whatever they want. God gave everyone the right to choose for themselves and we should honor that no matter what are personal feeling are. But I still believe in trying to share the good news anywhere you have the chance including work.
God should be in the center of everything we do, with the Holy Ghost leading the way. Jesus is our example and the only person we should compare ourselves too, comparing ourselves to anyone else is a deadly trap.
