When I left my fish this morning to go to class, every one was happy, and they had had a nice big breakfast (maybe alittle too much >.<). I got back from class early, so I dropped my stuff off in my room, said hi to the fish, and went off to get something to eat before my next class. I'm back now, 30 minutes later, and my first thought when I looked into the tank is "Where is every one?" Link wasnt patrolling his side, and Katsu Kaida wasnt at the front of the tank, greeting me and begging for food. I bend down little and what do I see? Link, slithering out of the plants on Katsu's side!!

I immediatly freeked out, fearing the worst for my little Katsu Kaida, netted Link and put him back on his side, and used the net to poke around in the plants looking for my baby.

Thankfully, he's (more or less...) ok. Horribly torn up, a little freeked out, but alive. I feel so bad... I knew Link was a jumper, but he had never jumped the divider before. When I did a water change the other day, I filled the water up to the level of the filter out put (AquaClear filters allow there to be more water in the tank by having a shorter out put), and raised the top support bar on the divider a bit to deter jumping (which clearly didnt help...).

Poor Katsu looks like crap. He's less then half the size of Link, and has (well... had) so much finage. Link is all muscle and *no* fins, so Katsu Kaida didnt stand a chance. Good thing he was smart and lodged himself in his plants...

Anyway, heres some pics. First one is when I first brought him home, a few weeks ago. The next two are of the dammage. Its quite bad... I'm going to switch him with Plutto (he's in a 2 gallon bowl), and give him daily water changes, with lots of Stress Coat...

Right? Little turd....

On the bright side, Katsu Kaida is doing really well. He's built himself a bubble nest, and is begging for food. Got his spunk back too. He bothing Plutto (the bowl is right next to the tank) most of the day, so I had to put a news paper in between them so that Katsu doesnt stress his fins too much lol

His a**l and dorsal fins are already patched up, now they just have to grow back out, and his tail... well, its getting there. Thats where most of the damage is, so it'll take a while.

It really is. He's been getting daily water changes with lots of Stress Coat =)
