Blah... There are days I enjoy my job, others I don't. Rarely ever does the former become the latter.
By the way, my entire department consists of women. Most of them I get along with. Most meaning the other three of the total of five including myself.

You know those days when you're feeling pretty good because you got all your tasks done and done well, so that you're looking for something else to do? That's how my day started. Nice, cool, pleasant morning doing the ol' opening routine for Petsmart. No customers to interrupt my reptile cage cleaning, properly misted cages and properly hydrated supplemental food, and the chameleon even just clung to my sleeve where I put him while I was doing his enclosure.

Come noontime, enter my department boss. Not my favorite person, but I've grown to tolerate her and be civil at the very least. Or so I think I am, anyway. I'm helping a Banfield vet who's been after one particular cichlid, running a tag to the register because my MOD told me we could sell him the fish and hang onto them until later in the day. No one told me that was against policy. I'm the trusting sort who has faith enough in her superiors to believe they know what they're doing unless it clashes hard enough with my own codes and knowledge for me to question.
First strike of the day, "You know you're supposed to go to lunch." If it were any of my good friends, it would have been a blank no-s**t-sherlock stare for them. I knew I was supposed to go, but I was busy helping the vet. Just... The tone in which it was said. Second strike was getting told off for telling a new manager that something was working fine to my knowledge, when it's not and no one told me the details. Store manager had already addressed this to me and that new manager; I didn't need her on my case about that s**t, too. Third one was about holding live animals, concerning the cichlids and the vet. Thankfully our stocking manager rectified that and took the heat off me, though it was after the fact so I'd already been pissed off.

Then there's the transfer chick. Came in from a sister store in the district. Pet Care all four(?) of her years with the company. Two colleagues, one the Support manager and the other the youngest PC associate, met her before I did. They predicted that there would be some headbutting going on between me and this new girl: "Oh, Courtney's not going to like that," paraphrased from the Support manager. I'm thorough with gravel-vac'ing, and know to be gentle with the system right now because it's in need of repair. Apparently she's not, and stirred up so much s**t that it was hard for the other PC to see the fish in the tanks. Not only that, but there was not a lot of s**t actually vacuumed up.
Her first impression with me was pretty s**t, too. I always smile and say hi to new associates to the location, because that first impression can be everything. I didn't get that back. At most I got a 'don't want to be here right now' "Hey". Not a good start. I'm really starting to not like these transfers from other stores. Dept. Boss was a transfer, too. So's the stocking manager (he's alright, though). I want more outside hires. ;-;

Meh, if anyone actually reads through this, you're a good listener.... Er, reader? and I appreciate that. I just needed to blow this off, and meanwhile try to figure out how to be less of a spineless coward who avoids confrontation and more a confident person with the backbone to say my piece to the offending party's face.
