Everyone, for those of you that do not know, I shall post this up.
the USA is trying to pass a bill to control the internet, and assume ownership of the internet, to try and regulate piracy of intellectual property.
-this is going to have a direct effect on everyone, not just pirates. It's going to stop you from accessing information, stop you streaming videos, reduce the budgets of websites which have to spend money to 'regulate copyright infringement' meaning slower development of the internet, it will close down the majority of websites which can't afford to regulate their websites from copyright infringement, it will censor partitions of web pages which are copyright unfriendly, will give the US government the authority and power to freely and unarguably decide what the public do and do not know, so that it could prevent websites which oppose it to exist. Most retarded thing ever tbh
