Sometimes, our circumstances tell us that bad things are happening all around us, and sometimes threaten to do harm to each of us.
It's at exactly those times we have to learn to trust God, in spite of what the circumstances tells us.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 4:3 that Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.
Believing God and trusting Him should be the very same things.
If we truly believe that God is able to deliver on His promise of salvation, resurrection and eternal life with Him in heaven, why would we not believe and trust Him when troubles, heartbreaks, hardtimes and circumstances try to overwhelm us?
What does James tell us about trials and turmoil in the world?
"Count it all joy!", knowing that the trying of our faith brings with it patience.
What is patience?
Actually, it's a sort of peace that comes from knowing that God is not going to allow His people to suffer more than they are able to handle
(See 1st Corinthians 10:13).
Paul, once again, in Romans 4:21 should give us encouragement when he writes, "And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able to perform".
Do you have a physical problem that causes you anxiety? It's okay to see your doctor, but it's more satisfying when you trust God with the problem and fully know that He is able and willing to heal your body, mind, and spirit.
Relationship issues? Turn them over to God, who is able to resolve those issues.
Bad habit(s)? Ask God to take away your desire to give into the habit.
Pray and trust.
God will deliver us from our bad habits.
Remember this, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ". (Romans 5:1. )
Let's all agree to keep our focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, and trust Him to deal with the circumstances that give us unnecessary worry and anxiety.
The same God, whose words created all that was created, is able to provide for all of our needs according to His riches in glory. (Phil. 4:19)
The same Jesus, who paid our sin debt, will deliver us from the jaws of defeat and place our feet on higher ground.
Know this.
God truly loves you!
He wants only the best for you!
Don't let our enemy and circumstances distract you.
Keep your eyes upon Jesus.
As the old hymn says,
"Trust and obey, for there's no other way".
May God in His infinite wisdom and mercy, pour out blessings on each of you and continue to have His perfect will and way in your lives.
may we all bring Him, honor, praise and glory!
