How does God speak to each of us?

Back in the time of Isaiah, God spoke to His prophet audibly, personally, and in a way that most of us would call miraculous.
Read Isaiah 6:1-8.
If we look at the very next verse, Isaiah 6:9, we understand that many people neither see nor hear God.
6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

The long and the short of it is, if there is a seperation between God and us, God has never moved and He has always been willing to speak to our hearts.

In reading through a booklet on personal relationships with God, from the Radio Bible Class, Grand Rapids, Michigan; I discovered that God would give insight and reveal himself to those who really want to know him.

See John 7:17
7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Paul, writing in Ephesians 1:17-18, revealed this.
1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Truly, God rewards those who diligently seek Him.
God will never hide his face or voice from those who want to have a personal relationship with Him.

The study guide that I mentioned above reminds us all that being close to God is not a matter of location, but more a matter of true desire to know our Creator, Lord, and Savior.

James 4:8 should be a gentle nudge to each of us.
4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts
If we look at verse 10 in this same 4th chapter of James, we can understand how loving and patient God truly is.
4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Want to know God better?
Want to have a truly personal relationship with God?
God is just a prayer away and He will never put you on hold, voice mail, or ask you to come back later.
We can ALL have a more personal relationship with God, this very day!

May God pour out manifold blessings on all who seek him and desire to serve him.
May God speak to all of our hearts today.
Let us all seek to bring Him honor, praise and glory in all that we do and say.

Your brother in Christ,
T.S.K. - Sir Aaron D.III

Thank you for posting this.

God speaks to everyone in different ways. We just need to be open to Him and receiving what He has to tell us. He can speak to us through other people, through strong thoughts/convictions, through the Word and daily devotions, in so many other ways. We just have to open ourselves and be ready to hear from Him. The closer we are to Him, and the deeper the relationship we have, the more often we can hear and see Him moving in our lives! †

Knight,
I have to agree with what BeIIe said, and thank you for posting this.
God does speak to us thru the Word of God, the Bible, as well as thru the Holy Spirit; and when the Lord opens a door for you ya best step thru it.
Remeber that the opposite of obediance is disobediance, and if we do not do what the Lord has instructed us to do, or go thru a door that He has opened for us, then we are being disobediant and sinful. God cannot look upon any thing sinful, so it is best to always stay steadfast in His Holy Word the Bible and strive to be as Christ~like as we can be.
Yes, We will stumble and fall from grace from time to time. The Lord knows this. Ya have to remember that He came down here and planted Himself in the womb of a virgin. Lived life as a man, was tempted in life the same as we are on a daily basis, and He stayed sinless until He was hung on that cross at Calvery and bore the sins of all of us. Died, concour death, concoured heII, was resurrected on that third day, walked the Earth for approx: forty days before ascending into heaven, and left with us three important things.
Salvation, The Holy Ghost to guide and direct and to fill us, and a promise to go and prepare a place for us in heaven and return one day to take us all back home with Him that believe in Him as Lord and Savior.
Thanks again Sir Knight.
Christian Huggles,
~Lyn~

"God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it...by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us." - Ephesians 3:20 (The Message)

...he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes...nor will cease from yielding fruit. - Jeremiah 17:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. - Joshua 1:8

God speaks to us in many different ways that is true. We need to meditate on God's word and draw closer to Him. The closer we draw to Him the easier it is for us to hear Him. We will become the strong tree planted by the waters that prospers even when the rest of the world is in a drought. Sometimes the problem is that we allow ourselves to get in the way. We need to set ourselves aside so that the Holy Spirit can work in and through us.

In the Hebrew, hāgâ (Hebrew: הגה‎), means to sigh or murmur, but also to meditate. It means not just to read it but also to say it. When you read something and repeat it out loud, you remember it better. When you take a verse and dwell on it saying it out loud and personalizing it you will remember it better. This help you draw closer to God and you will be able to hear Him when he speaks you easier.

Find a verse that speaks to you and make it personal. Mutter it to yourself through out the day and see if it doesn't help you with your walk and with hearing God.

How does God speak to me with every breath that I take, with every warm caress of the sun, with every tickle in the wind, with every star in the sky along with the bright moon that reminds me that life is what you make it....in the hearts of my children and through the love of my heart which booms like the thunder for my loved ones and strangers alike ....and the brightness like lightening with every smiling face that I get to see everyday. That is how The Lord speaks to me. heart
